Cape Hatteras Lighthouse as seen through the trees at the Lighthouse Site
The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in its new location. It was moved there in 1999 due to the natural erosion of Cape Hatteras during storms. It was originally built 1500 feet from the ocean, but at the time of the move, it was only 120 feet from the waters edge.
