When we came across a group of sea otters while on the glacier cruise, the captain of the boat shut off the motors and told us to be extremely quiet because the otters were wild and would leave if we weren't. We got about 50 yards of some of them. Two of the ones in this picture rolled over and over in the water while the one toward the top of the photo seemed to watch. The whiter the head and face of the otter, the older it is. The darker the animal, the younger it is. |
