This illustration is for "A Mermaid's Brother," the tale of a little boy who thinks he'd like to be a different animal so his brother would treat him better.

This picture of a boy and his brother blowing bubblegum shows how much fun they sometimes have together. I wish I could blow bubblegum like that but I never learned how. I hope I made the bubbles correctly.


I made this illustration first with pencil and then with watercolor paints, a black marker, and a little computer enhancement so the colors would shine.
