This illustration is for "A Mermaid's Brother," the tale of a little boy who thinks he'd like to be a different animal so his brother would treat him better.

This picture of the two brothers makes me hungry for brownies. I wonder why they're making them. Do you suppose it's a special event, or just for fun? I can almost smell the chocolate. Can you?


I made this illustration first with pencil and then with watercolor paints, a black marker, and a little computer enhancement so the colors would shine.
