For the longest time, I made hats out of pistachio shells. Yep. I'd wash them thoroughly, paint them (or cover them with pretty fabric), and put on the trimmings. Lotsa feathers, flowers, ribbons and whatnot. That is what the hat on the left is made from. The one on the right is made from a plastic wedding bell decoration, covered with fabric. The hat stands they are on are constructed from golf tees, woodens beads and handpainted. The little thing in the foreground is a hatpin holder, made from beads and other findings. Pretty? I think so! |
