The night before Megan's 13th birthday (actually, it was just after midnight, so it was technically her birthday), on Friday, June 13th, 2008, in the California central coast city of Arroyo Lucia, she saw a shooting star when she got up in the middle of the night to get a drink of water. She could hear the sound of the meteorite impacting when it crashed into the hills near her house.

The next day, at her birthday party, Megan Weiss told her best friends Holly Chase and Molly Hunter about it, so they went looking for the meteorite after they ate some of Megan's birthday cake.

What they found astonished them. Miniaturized astronauts who claimed to be from the year 3321 gave Megan a shrink ray-gun they had been guarding, and warned her about a group of space pirates who were from their century who were after the shrink-ray device.

Megan took some of the astronauts home, and Holly and Molly both kept one each for themselves. The miniaturized astronauts programmed the shrink-ray so it would only work when it detected Megan's unique chromosome pattern. Now, who do you want to be... Megan, or one of her victims?
