He and the others had been doing nothing but pushing immense weight for a while now and he needed a break. Leaning against the house, he caught his breath, but soon had his eyes wander to the front.
"Oh no," Rabbit quietly gasped. If Kanga got her hands on that honey pot, that would only mean more work for him and the others. He had told Pooh to get rid of all the jars left in the house, but he thought Pooh would put the honey inside himself, not Kanga. With the speed of a frantic bunny, Rabbit rushed over there just when Kanga was about to have the pot in her meaty paws.
Just when Kanga was about to indulge herself, planning on asking Pooh the same question over and over again he realized there was nothing left, Rabbit stood right in front of her, grabbed the honey out of Pooh's hands and leapt away. Kanga and Pooh looked at him as he told them "No, no, no, no, no, not one drop!"
"But why Rabbit?" Pooh asked. For once, Kanga didn't roll her eyes at such a dumb question. She was too busy whimpering as the honey was once more just out of her reach.
"Why? Silly old bear, don’t you remember? If Kanga keeps on eating honey, then she’ll never get thin and stay stuck forever. Is that what you want Kanga?" Rabbit asked her. As Pooh finally saw the logic, once again Kanga was put on the spot, and just like the first time, she had to unfortunately realize that the one accusing her was right. Sure she didn't want to lose the weight, but she also didn't want to spend the rest of her life stuck in her front door.
"No." Kanga hung her head. As she did, Rabbit turned back to Pooh, determined to make sure this didn't happen again. "Good; Pooh Bear, you are to not let even a lick of honey touch Kanga’s lips. In fact, you are to guard this honey as if it was your very own. Is that clear?" he asked.
"Perfectly Rabbit." Pooh replied. The two saluted, although Rabbit was the only one with a serious look while Pooh just smiled. Still, with the bear's word, Rabbit returned to his post. Pooh did the same, actually marching back and forth in front of all the jars of honey.
Kanga just sighed with her paw under her chin, annoyed that she had to agree with Rabbit. That still didn't make it easier to wait around and do nothing, with so many honey pots in front of you. Her belly then rumbled, groaning sadly at the loss of more food, and at Kanga's size, the tree shook enough to make some leaves fall.
She told herself that if her arms were as long as they were fat, she could get all the honey she wanted, but still that would be a bad idea...at least in the logical sense. At least, she thought, in the meantime she would get her fat massaged more. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
