Sonic and his friends marveled at the very size of this castle. However, they soon were drawn to another large sight.
"Wow." Sonic whispered. As if Peach's dress choice wasn't good enough, from where she was standing, the sunlight from outside was shining through her glass mural above and onto her. It took an elbow from Amy to snap him out of it.

"Hi Peachy, it's good to see you again." he said, managing to walk up and just shake hands with the princess. It took all of Sonic's self control not to jump her right there.
"Nice to see you to mister Sonic. What brings you here?" she asked.
"Well I wanted to see how you were doing, and I also wanted to wish good luck on your next round in the Brawl tournament." Sonic answered.

"Peach, could you tell me where the restroom is?" she asked.

Once Amy left, Sonic decided to go for it.

As they left, Sonic gave Tails the signal, and before Mario or anyone could question those two, he stepped in.

Sonic then sat down on the bed, and patted the spot next to him.

Once she did sit down, the bed creaked under her weight. Now Peach only blushed because of that, and Sonic knew it was time to lift her spirits.

"Look Peach, Samus and Zelda told me how you feel. That you see yourself as someone who will always be hopeless and timid, and that this fat has sealed the deal." Sonic said. Peach was mad that her friends had gone and told her new friend about her insecurities, but she saw no point in denying it now.

"I just can't believe this happened to me. I already have enough problems with my low self-esteem and the depressing thought of being alone forever, both of which will only make me want to eat more." Peach admitted. Even as she teared up, Sonic had already been touched by her words.
Fortunately, hearing her say that she expected to be alone, with no mention of Mario, allowed Sonic to proceed further.

Peach stopped crying when she felt a hand on hers.
"Peach, I don't know if you've heard this before, but even with this weight you are not ugly. To tell you the truth, I think it makes you more beautiful." Sonic admitted.
"Beautiful?" hearing herself called that really got to Peach. Not many people had ever told she was beautiful, and now here was this charming hero who spoke those very words.
