Arms out in front of him, he was ready to end this with one mighty attack. The giant fat princess saw him coming and before he could get any closer, her hand lashed out instantly. Sonic’s eyes widened as he saw her hand coming towards her. She was moving too fast and he couldn’t stop. Rosalina knocked the huge, golden hedgehog back like a bug. Sonic went flying back, over everyone’s heads and far into the distance. A giddy smile formed on her incredibly huge face, pushing her round cheeks out. This was getting fun.
“Silly Mr. Hedgehog, your too thin and weak to beat little old me.” Rosalina’s eyes moved away from the pesky golden bug onto the open space in front of her where her guests were all looking up at her in terror. Everyone moved to an asteroid hovering not to far, all cautious of the raw power she’d shown. Her silly sister and traitorous bat friend weren’t looking so sure of themselves now that she had beaten back their hero with a single blow. The glow of the emerald still surrounded them, but compared to the jiggling bulk of the mad space princess they were nothing.
“Pancakes,” Rosalina slowly said, an idea forming in her vacant head. “I think I’ll start my meal with pancakes.”
No one knew how to react when Rosalina grabbed the floating leftovers of what was once her home. She filled her jiggling arms up with the broken fake planet, pushing it together into one huge ball of wreckage. She even started humming, like she was a child putting together a gift for mommy. Finally, she held up the huge ball of steel, concrete and wood and stared at all her enemies. Smiling at them again, once more seemingly friendly, she tossed the millions of pounds of debris at them.
“Bye-bye,” Rosalina giggled as the huge ball of debris dropped onto the helpless people on the asteroid. Everyone tried to scatter, but it was two late. The ball of debris landed right on top of them, crashing apart as it made contact. Everyone was buried and it looked like no one could have survived. Rosalina clapped her hands, excited about getting to peel her next meals of the asteroid.
Sonic had been knocked back nearly a mile. The blow had winded him, but he was all right. He had flown back as fast as he could to the fight, ready to try again and instead he saw everyone he cared for be buried under a mountain of debris. He had seen his two loves, looking up in terror and trying to run, but ultimately failing. His heart had stopped as they disappeared under all the wreckage his worst fears being recognized. He had failed to protect the people he loved.
“NNNNNOOOOOOO!!!”
He flew towards the rubble, tears streaming down his furry cheeks as he dived right into the mess. He pulled steal beams and shattered walls, looking for any sign of life. He knew Rosalina was still out there, planning on killing everyone, but all that mattered to him was finding the people he loved. They couldn’t die, not any of them. He couldn’t live with himself if his best friend Tails was dead or his bedroom buddy Rouge or his new friends Kirby, Tiff and Birdo who had only come because they trusted him. And if Peach and Amy were…were…were… The thought was simply unbearable.
“S-s-s-so-onic.”
The voice was weak, but sonic heard it right bellow him. Curling his fat body into a ball, he started spinning around to form, a buzz saw. Burrowing into the floor like the hedgehog he was, he sped down until he reached an air pocket and uncurled to land on his feet. What he saw in front of him filled his heart with so much joy he started to cry again.
“Stop crying, your not the one with a thousands tons bearing down on them,” Rouge complained as she crawled over to Sonic. Behind her, everyone was stared on him. They were dirty, cut up, but alive and that was all that mattered. Amy ran over to him first, wrapping her arms around her bigger lover and holding him tight as the tears flowed from both of them. They had experienced some close calls, but this was by far the worst. It had looked like they were goners, but seeing them alive right now made Sonic the happiest fatty alive.
Still in shock over nearly losing everyone, Sonic could only stammer, “How?”
Amy chuckled, rocking her fat body against her boyfriend’s fatter form. “It was Peach. When everything was coming down she shielded nearly everyone with her body,” Amy explained and Rouge muttered miserably behind her, “Didn’t try to save me.”
Sonic peeked over his shoulder and saw Peach flat on her stomach, debris poking into her back. A few large objects had almost crushed everyone, but her bulky form had blocked it. Peach was probably in the worst shape, with a large cut on her arm and several bruises all over her face, but still she smiled, happy to see the most important person in her life. Everyone was safe, sure there was still an evil tyrant out there planning to kill everyone, but she knew they could beat her. Sonic had shown her anything was possible and she refused to give up. All she needed was a plan to beat her deranged sister.
“Thank you, Peach” Sonic mumbled, unable to express the gratitude he felt towards Peach. If he didn’t love her with all his heart already, after saving everyone he would have.
“Sonic, you don’t need to thank me. I’d protect Amy and everyone else with my life. No one you care about we’ll ever get hurt if I can help it, especially Amy. Got to protect the ones you love.” The last part, Peach was talking to Amy. The two of them met eyes a warmth was conveyed between them that had never been there before. Amy had been mistrustful of Peach since she and Sonic announced her love, the fear of being left behind was a constant fear in her mind. But now she saw how wrong her fears were, Peach had no desire to cast her aside, the pink princess loved her if not as a friend then something more.
Amy didn’t think she could love anyone as much as Sonic, but maybe she had been wrong. She remembered the last few moments before they were buried, when she thought she was going to die, Peach had looked at her, smiled and grabbed her. As she felt herself get buried, her eyes had never left Peach’s face as she courageously protected her no matter what. In that moment, Amy’s heart had tightened in a way it had only done when Sonic protect her. Peach loved her, what kind of love didn’t matter because whether it was out of friendship, lust or loyalty, she would always be there for Amy, and that was all that mattered.
Amy let go of sonic and they walked slowly towards Peach who was still partially buried under debris. They saw that Tails, Birdo, and Mr. and Mrs. Kirby were all right before sitting down next to the pinned princess. Sonic and Amy both took one of her hands in theirs and held them tight. “We’ll get you out of there, Peach?”
“Better wait,” Peach said, shifting her body and hearing their surroundings creak. “When everything was coming down, my butt took the brunt of it. If I move, everything comes down. My ass is the only thing keeping all our asses safe.”
“God bless your ass, is there anything it can’t do,” Sonic joked, needing to keep the mood light or panic would set in. Everyone was safe, but for how long? Rosalina could come looking for them any second and they had no way to beat her. Even with the Chaos Emeralds giving them all strength, it wasn’t enough to beat the ten tons of blubber that Rosalina had turned into. Brute strength wasn’t enough to beat the giant over weight princess. They needed some other way to beat her.
“Yes, my butt is….” An idea suddenly sprang to life inside Peach’s head. “…Awesome” It was a completely mad idea. There were a hundred things that could go wrong and end up costing her everything she held dear. However, there was no other choic e. No frontal attack could ever hurt Rosalina as she is now. They needed to take the fat bitch out another way.
“Listen! I know how we can beat Rosalina!”
That got everyone’s attention. They raced towards Peach, all ears for some way to stop the threat to all life outside. Peach explained her idea quickly. Knowing that time was off the essence. Her idea caused a lot of reactions from everyone. Some looked disgusted, others looked shocked, Sonic laughed out loud before grinning at everyone cockily. “What the Hell! That’s crazy enough to work. Lets do it!”
