Along the way, the two started to flirt with each other; “I think your hips are a little bigger now” said Mr. Incredible. “Just wait until later” said Elastigirl with a sultry wink. “My hips will fill the…” The playful banter between the married couple stopped immediately when they entered the bank and saw that Violet and Dash were no longer in the building. There were a total of five security guards still in the bank.
“Hey, did you see where the other two went?” asked Mr. Incredible to a security guard.
The security guard in question was rather short, barely reaching Mr. Incredible’s chest. The security guard was, in fact, was in the act of getting a drink from the drinking fountain when Mr. Incredible asked him the question.
“Well, I saw someone enter the bank who claimed to be a distant relation” said the security guard. “the two went with him”
“He wasn’t a nut job with red hair, was he?” asked Elastigirl, referring to Syndrome. There hadn’t been any body of a dead Syndrome when his jet had crash-landed. Of course, Syndrome was forced into a jet engine….still, some villains came back after death-defining explosions.
“Actually, I don’t recall seeing any hair” said the guard.
“Maybe Fire Swallower had an ally” said Mr. Incredible.
“Could be” said Elastigirl.
The two searched the bank for some kind of clue or ransom note. Years of crime-fighting had taught the married couple that villains usually left something behind. Most villains leave behind bread-crumb trails that led to them, where they would enter a boring twenty-minute monologue about how great they were compared to the superhero, and that it would be useless to escape and all that. If you were smart, you could lead a villain into a monologue, much like what Mr. Incredible did to Syndrome one time.
After five minutes of searching, both Elastigirl and Mr. Incredible found a short sword, which held up a ransom note near the bank’s entrance. The note was made from magazine paper, as per usual with ransom notes. The note read:
“I have your two sidekicks. If you want ‘em back, bring $250,000 to the abandoned warehouse on 4th Street”
The note was signed: Sword Swallower
“Like hell we’re bringing the money” said Elastigirl. “I think Sword Swallower should join his buddy”
“Like wise, but if the kids are watching, we'll have to book him like normal” said Mr. Incredible.
The abanadoned warehouse on 4th Street was on the very edge of the docks in Metroville. The warehouse was a popular hang out for both villains and lowly criminals...hence why it was abanadoned. It was a medium-sized warehouse that was part of the ocean docks.
Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl found the warehouse quite easily with the homing devices their suits gave out. The homing devices, a new edition by none other than Edna, could be tracked down by a hand-held unit. It listed both Dash's and Violet's name. According to the hand-held, Violet and Dash were separated from each other at opposite ends of the building. The warehouse had two entrances; one in the front and one in the back.
"I'll take the front" said Mr. Incredible. "you take the back"
Elastigirl nodded and headed for the back door.
