As soon as she did, the crowd started to quiver in fear. Creepie may have led them to safety, but now she was doing something very risky. The way they saw it, three things were bound to happen.
#1, Creepie's mom would come down, but wouldn't see them, look around, and accidentally squish them in the process.
#2, Creepie's mom would come down, would see them below, but she'd freak out, faint, and squish them in the process.
Or #3, She wouldn't come down at all because Creepie's small voice could not be heard.
Well as it turned out, all of those scenarios were wrong, especially the third.
"How was school dear, I didn't hear you come....in?" Caroleena hovered for a moment. She didn't see her daughter anywhere. "Creepie?" she called for her.
"Down here." she heard her voice. Upon looking down, her eyes widened.
As Creepie got her mother's attention, the kids shivered even more. It was bad enough when they had people to worry about, now they were face to face with a Praying Mantis. Also, they thought they were going crazy, because they thought they just heard it talk!
"Creepie?!" Caroleena couldn't believe her eyes. Still, even when she came down to ground level, it seemed to be true. Her little big girl was now little all around.
"I can explain, also that's part of my class back there." Creepie wanted to make sure there was no more confusion. Caroleena looked behind her small daughter, and spotted the small crowd of wide eyed middle schoolers.
"Uh, hi." she waved. The kids promptly fell over.
Frankly, Creepie was expecting that.
Eventually, after everyone woke up, and had been relocated to the couch, Creepie finished explaining.
"Then Carla held up the amulet up to the light, and the next thing we knew, we were all shrunk." Creepie said. "Well this is just awful." Caroleena replied. "Not really, I like being this size, I have always wanted to be a bug." Creepie pointed out.
Caroleena smiled at what her daughter just said. She knew how important family was to Creepie, and even though she was one of the family, she couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to be an actual insect. Truthfully, a part of Caroleena was thrilled to have Creepie shrunken down. Before, her daughter towered over her, now she barely came up to her waist. Being her adoptive mother, she had always longed to hold her daughter in her arms just like a real parent.
While Creepie was enjoying every minute of this, her classmates on the other hand........
"I still can't believe it, I'm actually taller than a human." Creepie's brother Pauly spoke as he stood next to the trembling boy. Paulie was a rather 'large' Pill Bug.
"Gnat try! Gnat try!" Zooming in very energetically was her other brother Gnat. He was....well, a gnat.
He stood next to another kid. Despite being shrunk, the guy was still taller than this bug. "Nope, you're still a shrimp." Paulie fell over laughing. Gnat was steamed.
"Creepie, I know you are enjoying this, but do you have any idea how can return to normal?" Despite her emotions, even Caroleena knew this couldn't last forever.
"Hmm, I don't know....maybe if we used the amulet again, it would return us to normal." It seemed like their best shot.
"Sounds good, don't worry Creepie, we'll get you and the others back to normal, right boys?" Caroleena said. "Right!" Paulie and Gnat replied.
"Thanks mom, so they can stay right?" she just wanted to make sure. The one to reply to her question was Creepie's father, Vinnie "Creepilla, any friends of yours are always welcome.".
"AAAAH!! GET IT AWAY!!" they turned to see Carla screaming. "Carla, it's just my dad." Creepie tryed to calm her. "He's a giant mosquito!" she countered. "Like, EWW!" Melanie added.
"Will you guys take it easy?" Creepie asked. "Why? How do we know that they won't eat us or something?!" Carla said. "They won't, now will you just stop it?" Creepie was getting annoyed. "We always knew you were a freak." Surprisingly, Melanie said that.
That was it, Creepie went over to give those two a piece of her mind. Creepie nornally stayed quiet and took the high road, but she could only take so much.
Creepie wasn't the only one getting upset. Caroleena was highly offended herself, as were the others. Sure they had anticipated that the humans would be freaked out. After all, it's not every day you shrink down to a tiny size and find out that bugs can talk.
Even so, you would think they would be more greatful. I mean, Creepie had just gotten them to safety, and they as her family could not have been more curtious. Now they were acting like that had never happened, and currently had nothing but insults for Creepie and her family.
Caroleena's instinct began to kick in. As a Praying Mantis, she was a master at catching prey. However, her attacks weren't always derived from hunger, sometimes other bugs just got on her nerves, and she currently had about a dozen or so creatures that were bug sized in her prescence.
