She couldn’t let her brother be eaten, no matter how wicked the Spider Queen was. Creepie was ignored as the Spider Queen brought Gnat closer to her open mouth and stuck her tongue out. Gnat was a few inches from her wet, red tongue when a bolt of energy hit her in the back. The Spider Queen was thrown forward, letting go of Gnat, who quickly buzzed behind Creepie to hid.
“What the heck?” Creepie asked as she looked at the fallen Spider Queen. Her eyes went to where the bolt of energy had come from and saw two kids standing beside all things a Skelton in a black robe.
“Grim! How dare you attack me!” Hissed the Spider Queen as she scurried back to her feet.
“It wasn’t me Velma!” The skeleton whined in a Jamaican accent. He pointed one bony finger to a girl with blond hair and a frown who was carrying a huge scythe. “She did it!”
The girl looked up at the skeleton and if possible her scowl grew. She looked back at the irate Spider Queen, not backing down at the huge half spider, half woman glared hatefully down at her. The girl spoke, her voice cold and cruel. “Yah, it was me. What are you going to do about it?”
“I see you’ve come to stop me from conquering the world. Do you really think you can save this dirtball from my spider army?” The Spider Queen laughed, using the stereotypical mad super villain laugh that all would-be world conquerors used. She stopped laughing when the girl let out what might have been a small chuckle or a cough.
“I don’t want to save the earth from you, I just want it free of spiders when I take it over. I want dominion over all the humans, not all the humans and the spiders. Keeping you from conquering the earth just means I’ll have one less race to enslave when I begin to over take the globe.”
Everyone blinked at the girls grim and dark reasoning for wanting to stop the Spider Queen. Creepie looked at the devil haired girl with interest. Now here was someone that could possible be more weird then her.
“Enough of your babble.” The Spider Queen growled and waved her hand, causing all the spiders on her web to turn face to the intruders. “Prepare to be captured and then devoured!”
The spiders formed a circle around the two children and the skeleton, giving them no way to escape. The girl glared at the army of spiders, cracking her knuckles in preparation to fight. The skeleton looked far less sure, even though he had grabbed back the scythe from the girl. The last of the group, a boy with a red hat ands a huge nose, looked blankly at the spiders and stepped forward.
“Do not fear! I will fight these buggies off,” he declared courageously. He hunkered down, ready to fight, when a tiny spider no bigger then the tip of Creepie’s pinky dropped down from the ceiling on top of the boy’s head. It crawled down his forehead and right between his eyes. The boy went cross-eyed, looking strait at the spider on his face.
“SPIDER!” He screamed like a girl and fell over. The boy curled up into the fetal position and started crying, shivering all over as the tiny spider cried out his victory over the big mighty human. Creepie watched, not sure if she should rejoice for the Spider or feel sorry for the stupid human.
The girl stepped over the boy’s trembling body, not giving it a second look. “Ready to fight, Grim?”
“Do I have a choice?” Grim sighed.
“No,” the girl said decisively and took a swing at a spider the size of a rottweiler. Creepie watched the girl and skeleton take on the army of Spiders, wondering if maybe she should help them fight. The Spider Queen was planning on taking over the world, but was a world run by spiders really so bad? Creepie wasn’t given time to think about it because the fight ended just then with a loud boom. The winning party advanced towards her.
