Normally, once they arrived at their investigation sight, Martin would already be listing multiple theories on what they were up against.
"*Yawn* Can we go back now?" This time though, he was too bored to care.
"Martin, we just got here, plus we still need to find the energy source." Although Diana was annoyed by her stepbrother's usual laziness, it was quickly overshadowed by the fact that he was keeping his mouth shut. Granted, Martin's suspicion's usually turned out to be right, but he already had head that was far too big.
"Strange energy source...............this just like radiation readings from the Hollow Earth!!" Martin exclaimed.
Well, it was nice while it lasted.
"Hollow Earth?" Diana knew she was going to regret asking. "Yeah, back in the early twentieth century, some explorers claimed to have discovered a huge hole in the North Pole that lead to deep into the Earth, which was inhabited by aliens and other subturanean species!!" Martin proclaimed.
"Oh please Martin, I read those reports, but do you expect me to believe that there's another otherwordly race of creatures living beneath our feet in these woods?" Diana asked. "Well yeah, what do you think it is?" Martin sounded so sure of himself. "That the Center's scanners were malfunctioning." Diana responded. "All summer? I don't think so." Martin countered.
With that said, the two made there through the forest, keeping their eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary.
"WHAA!" Martin had soon tripped on something, as he he got up though, he noticed something odd. He felt something next to him, but he didn't see anything.
"What is it?" Diana asked as she saw Martin activate his U-Watch, the handy gadget that contained any equipment they would need on their investigations.
"U-Watch activated, selecting I-Cutter." Forming out of the watch was a an energy blade, which Martin promptly struck forward.
Some electrical surges were seen, and now becoming visible to the naked eye, was a spaceship!
"Woah!" Martin and Diana said unison.
"Yeah, woah." Billy added.
"Billy?!" Martin and Diana screamed. Why did he always have to show up so abruptly?
"What are you doing here, We're not even halfway through our mission yet." Diana pointed out. "I know, but I thought we'd shake things up a little this time, and it looks like I picked up the right time." Billy said.
He hovered over to this formerly cloaked spacecraft. As an alien himself, Billy was very familiar with all forms of space vehicles, but this one didn't match any type he knew. Adding to the mystery, how did this one enter the atmosphere without being detected by the Center?
"I'll report this in." Billy turned abruptly as a portal revealed itself. He soon left Martin and Diana by themselves again. "That was weird," Diana mentioned. Was there something Billy wasn't telling them?
Meanwhile, once back in the center, Billy asked himself aloud "I wonder if the Plumber's know about this?".
Martin and Diana continued to make their way through the forest. Diana by now had activated her U-Watch, using the Virtual Tracer to find the energy source. Martin walked a few feet behind her.
Suddenly, he stopped. He felt like he was being watched, and when you're a paranormal investigator, that is not a sensation you ignore. He looked around, but didn't see anything. Last time that happened, he listened to his insticts, and found an unmarked spaceship.
"Martin? Why are you just standing there?" His suspicions were put aside however, so he could answer his nagging sister.
"Sorry Di, but did you ever feel like, you were being watched?" he asked. "On this job, yeah." Diana replied indignantly to Martin's dumb question.
As she replied though, a pair of eyes peering into thermal vision goggles looked down on them from up in the trees. They belonged to something non-human.
This was the same alien that came with the spaceship. It had been away to attend to more 'important' matters, but by the time it returned to its ship, it had been discovered by these two humans. The alien knew it was now or never, it's mission would have to be completed before more humans came to take the ship away. However, rather than using it's superior agility to beat the humans to their destination, the alien decided to follow close behind them, and develop a strategy that could get them all out of the picture.
Whoever or whatever this creature was, it spoke only one thing.
"He shall be mine.". Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
