Wade spoke over the Kimmunicator. Nodding along, Kim Possible soon found herself at the Middleton dock where the cruise ship had appeared. Parking her car on the docks, she and Ron got out and took a look at this so called creepy craft. It looked normal enough, but the two of them did notice that as soon as they got there, things seemed suspiciously quiet.
"Okay Wade, we're here." Kim said. To her side, Ron took another look at the boat and scratched his head. Now he knew why he'd left Rufus at home, this mission looked like a false alarm.
"I don't get it, what's so freaky about a ship?" he had to ask. It wasn't glowing or had any ghosts floating around it, and nobody like Killigan, Motor Ed, or even Gill was anywhere in sight. So why did they have to be here?
"The cruise ship Melody departed from Hawaii last night and just half an hour ago it arrived here at the mainland. Not only is that physically impossible, but no one has seen or heard from anyone on board. This ship left with over a thousand tourists and not to mention the staff members and now it looks like they've all vanished. What ever happened, it's already scared anyone from setting one foot inside there to take a look." Wade explained.
"Lucky us." Kim spoke sarcastically. While she made sure they had their gear all together, Ron was scanning the area to see if anything other than an empty cruise liner didn't fit. That's when he looked down.
"Kim, look," he pointed at the ground. Looking in that direction, all she saw was some water on the wood surface.
"It's a puddle, Ron." she pointed out. Before she could state that all docks have water on them, Ron said "No not that, that." He pointed further in that direction, causing Kim to see wet footprints. "And they seem to be heading back into the ship." she obsevered.
With their gear ready and flashlights in hand, in the couple slowly ventured forth into the dark boat. Every step the took set off a faint, metallic echo, but aside from that and and the splash of water beneath their feet, they didn't hear anything that sounded remotely human.
"Look, the tracks are seperating." Kim pointed ahead. There had been more than one set of tracks and now at a fork in the hallway, they had gone off in different directions.
"Looks like we'll have to split up. I'll go that way, you go this way." she told Ron. "Got it KP." he said. Before he could get going though, Kim grabbed him by the shoulder and said "Oh and Ron, try not to mess this one up."
Then, just like that she went in her direction. While completely putt off by her remark, Ron did find it ironic though that in a real sense, he and Kim were going in different directions. Ever since high school ended and with college on the horizon, she'd started acting like a completely different person. Well not completely, but to Ron, it seemed like when they were in high school, she accepted all his flaws but now that they were in the real world, she felt the need to nitpick every little one of them.
"What makes her so perfect?" he asked himself.
