Samantha looked left, then right, then down. Her belly was a little bit extended from this rather large meal. She knew it would go back to its normal size in about a day or so, but it was still a little disturbing to think that it was made that way from living beings. Then again...they tasted so wonderful. She decided it was about time to clear this up with her secretary and make sure she didn't tattle. After all, if Samantha was in jail, she couldn't do any good for the universe. She felt a little kick in her stomach and thought that this must be what a child in her uterus is like. She burped again, licked her lips, patted her stomach, and walked toward the door.
The secretary was outside, still playing games, though not listening to music anymore. She saw the door open and Miss Weltzin walk out. Was it just her, or had Miss Weltzin gained a few pounds? She decided not to ask.
Samantha said, "Uh...I just ate those people who came in. You warned them about my PMS, right?"
The secretary grew wide-eyed behind her large wire-rimmed glasses. She nodded, speechless.
Samantha sighed, "Okay...I thought as much. Anyway, can you...not say anything about this?"
The secretary was ecstatic that Miss Weltzin would confide something like this in her, and she figured they could become close. Perhaps she would even become part of history. Miss Weltzin was going places, she could tell. "It'll be our little secret," she said, and winked.
Samantha smiled, burped again, and said, "Thanks. I knew I could count on you." She walked back into her office to finish her papers and digest her recent meal.
