From the destruction we beget, a new dawn for mankind will be set into motion.” The monolith with the words SEELE-4 echoed through the dark lifeless chamber. They had put so much work into today and they would all be damned if they let Ikari stand in their way.
“All that stands before us, be it innocent, corrupt, or neutral must be removed with force.” SEELE-2 said to his fellow monoliths.
“The traitor must die first, no one can be aloud to see the culmination if their hearts reek of treachery.” An unsaid agreement was made between SEELE-8 words and the rest of the members.
“Which traitor, the manipulative Ikari or the weak willed 17th angel?” SEELE-1 shot back.
“Both.” Nothing more was said between the men as they waited for what the perceived as prophesized fate to run its coarse. The fact that the scenario had become much different then foretold by the joining of Kaworu and Shinji was given no heed to the world’s most powerful men. What was the love between to people to an organization that has murdered billions to get this far? They would bring about their professed future, even if it meant the destruction of every living man and woman on Gods green earth. The road to hell was truly being built with good intentions.
“I’m scared,” Shinji admitted as he sat on Kaworu’s tongue. He could feel the hot breath hit him from the throat not to far away. It was humid and wet inside from all the saliva falling down from the palate. With Kaworu lips firmly shut, no light could penetrate the mouth and Shinji was left in utter darkness. He knew that one good jolt would send him tumbling down the throat as easily as a breathy of air. The inside of someone’s mouth would scare anyone, but it wasn’t the reason that Shinji was scared. In fact, he found the mouth very calming, the soft hot air passing by him, the uneven ground beneath him shifting at every moment, Pulse of life the organic chamber seemed to poses. All of it put Shinji to ease. What was scaring the boy was the thought that Kaworu could get hurt or worse from the coming fight.
“There is no need to fear Shinji, with you connected to my soul, I am strong enough that no man or Eva can ever hurt US again.” Kaworu was communicating through telekinesis, so Shinji would not be blown out of his mouth when he spoke. Shinji smiled when Kaworu used ‘us’ as a way to show their unity. If Kaworu was convinced that they would be okay, Shinji had nothing to fear. Everything would be okay in the end, Shinji was sure of it.
“Shinji, the first battalion of soldiers is here. I’m going to have to kill a few of them to stop them right on, are okay with that?” Kaworu asked Shinji evenly. Thinking for a moment, Shinji realized that these men were just following orders and most definitely had no idea of the desired Armageddon that SEELE wanted. But they were still uninformed pawns in a massive chess game with earth’s future on the line. Shinji bit his lip and tried to remember what was on the line when he spoke to Kaworu.
“Do what ever you have to,” Shinji said quietly, but with the soul connection, a whisper could still be heard as easily as a scream. Kaworu focused his AT field, which he had appropriately called the light of his soul. The external shield exploded into a massive wave of energy, acting like an invisible bomb that destroyed souls instead of bodies. The soldiers didn’t even know anything was wrong until it was too late.
“Is it over?” Was all that Shinji had to ask.
“Yes,” Kaworu said simply. Were once an army stood, only puddles of orange slime remained. Every last solider had been turned into LCL when Kaworu AT field had touched. Kaworu gave a prayer for someday these poor souls to enter the Siler City and reclaim what they had last in their first lives. A shadow past over Kaworu head and he carefully looked up, making sure not to let Shinji slid off his tongue. Like some mutated vultures, they circled, Wings never flapping to stay in the sky and faces seemingly emotionless. Kaworu saw one of them glance down at him and have their faces twist into a hideously toothy smile. The smile was not of happiness or content, but of endless madness and viciousness. There was an unholy number to these berserkers, 13; truly unlucky for all that lay their sights on them. The Eva series had been completed and now they have come to destroy one more angel before taking the world apart.
