Sasami looked around the hallway for more signs of weirdness. When nothing happened for 3 minutes, Sasami shrugged and returned to her manga snd continued down the hallway to the bathroom.

"We're playing poker, nitwit"
Kiyone and Mihoshi were somewhere near Saturn, playing with a deck of cards. They usually did this when thier workday was being slow--and it was really slow today. The patrol of the Sol System was one of the easiest jobs that Kiyone ever had. The Sol System was so remote that practically nobody ever come to it. There'll be the odd space taxi once in a while, or a cargo ship, but nothing too exciting. Kiyone sighed as she received a Nine of Diamonds...no help.
Mihoshi was of no help either. The ditzy blond knew the rules of poker...but got easily confused by it. Mihoshi would be confused if you stick a book in her face...and it needn't be a hard book to understand. How Mihoshi got to be a first-class detective was a mystery of the universe. Her grandfather was the marshall of the Galaxy Police, and that helped a little.
Neither of them saw the curious blue telephone booth that whizzed past Yagami. Not even Yagami's sensors could pick it up.
"I open with $3" said Mihoshi. Kiyone raised an eyebrow and looked down at Mihoahi's cards. The two were playing 7-card stud and Mihoshi had nothing...that was showing, at least.
"I'll see that" said Kiyone, and sighed. She was bored out of her mind. She needed a promotion to get away from Mihoshi. Anybody who ever met Mihoshi needed to be far away from her.
Suddenly, the radio on Yagami crackled to life.
".....Come in, if you read me" said a male voice over the radio. "this is..." It went dead then. The transmission was highly garbled, and what sounded like weapons firing were in the background.
Kiyone was to the scanners in a heartbeat. She scanned the local area and found a starliner had found its way into the system. A starliner is like an oceanliner, but it travels in space. (It looks like that big ship in "No Need for a Ghost").
"You think it's the space mafia?" asked Mihoshi.
"I don't know, but that starliner is under attack" said Kiyone.
