His eyes returned to the corpse of the Ctarl-Ctarl female that he had called Sara. He didn’t look upset or sad, he was completely neutral as though he wasn’t looking at a body at all, but something that was once useful, but was now worthless. His golden stare leveled at Gene and Suzuka and a low growl emitted from his throat.
“That is my life mate in there,” he said pointing to the broken body of Sara.
“So what was she, your girlfriend or something?” Gene asked uncaring for an answer. He had a special shell that was specially designed to take down Ctarl-Ctarls and was inching to try it out. He had bought it so if Aisha ever got the munchies for him, he would have a fighting chance against her.
“She was my what you puny creatures would call wife,” He said impassively.
“Well you look real broken up about her death, don’t yah?” Gene was not moved at all by the cat man’s lose. He still held that despondent look on his face that seemed neither sad nor upset. He looked like some one that had just found out his favorite snack was missing from the store. Gene would guess that as soon as he wouldn’t shed a single tear for the female he’d called a life mate. Gene just couldn’t understand how the Ctral-Ctarls think, at the simplest things they go wild and destructive, though with other matters they were as cool as cucumbers.
“Are you saying that I should weep for my life mates death?” An emotion finally came to the Ctarl-Ctarl’s face at that moment and it wasn’t anger, it was amusement. He gave a toothy grin that displayed his sharpened canines. A chuckle echoed softly from his throat as he shook his head in mirth.
“She was weak and clumsy and got what she deserved for being that way. The most shameful thing a Ctarl-Ctarl can do is be beaten by anyone. Sara may have been important to me before, but when he allowed herself to be over come by that other female, she proved that she was unsuited to spawn my offspring. If that female hadn’t killed her, then I certainly would to restore my family honor. I am only thankful that she died before giving birth to her unsuited offspring.” Gene snapped to attention at the last remark. His eyes widened and his mouth went slack, he couldn’t of heard what he had just said, could he?
“She was pregnant with your child and your … happy about it?” Gene slowly asked.
“Of course,” He said, not believing that Gene could think for a second that he would feel sorry at all about seeing his flawed unborn child die.
“You’re a monster!” Gene growled as he leveled his caster between the Ctarl-Ctarls eyes. He may be a womanizing boozehound, but even Gene had his standards and one of the big ones was looking after your kids. Maybe it had to do with his own father dying and leaving him alone, but whenever Gene saw a father abandoning their sons, Gene wanted only to blow them away. Before he could fire, the male Ctarl-Ctarl turned and fled into the smashed office. Not a single glance was given to his dead life mate as he jumped over her destroyed body and went crashing through the window and out into the street. Gene ran to the smashed window with Suzuka hot on his heels. When he looked out, The Ctarl-Ctarl was nearly out of view, but before he disappeared, he shouted one last thing to Gene.
“Tell my new life mate that I will come for her in time!” And then he was gone.
