Chapter 29: Battle in the Streets   (ID #307754)
an addition by: Oddler  More by this author

Of course things rarely ever go as planned. The Kei pirate duo had some experience when it came to fighting Ctarl Ctarl but they hadn’t exactly come prepared. They had only recently finished a political assassination when they’d received new orders to help out a local slaver. Nearly 10 minutes later they had found themselves in the middle of a heated battle against a surprisingly resourceful young kid and a rabid ex-official of the Ctarl Ctarl Empire. Aisha was quite a handful. She wasn’t selected to be ambassador because of her charisma and great people skills. It was because she’d proven herself to be fairly intelligent, a bigger racist than most, and most importantly, competent in battle. The street soon started to resemble a war zone. Jim found cover behind an overturned truck that had been hauling fresh fruit. He surprised the Lao by tossing a tire iron at his head while Aisha was taking swipes at him. It cracked against his skull causing him to chip several teeth. A trickle of blood started to ooze out of the gash on his head. He wavered slightly and the Ctarl Ctarl girl moved in for the kill. Only by attacking the most sensitive area of his Ctarl Ctarl attacker, her eyes, did he manage to get away. He spat his chipped teeth into her eyes and dove away. It only bought him a second but it was enough. Lao was soon kicking himself for wasting a perfectly good explosive on a passing car.

“Alice, a little help here!”

Aisha reached out to grab at Lao’s waist long hair but he disappeared into a veil of smoke. Suddenly a small series of firecracker sized blasts erupted upon the sidewalk. Aisha hopped from foot to foot, “Yeowch! Hey what’s the big idea? Why don’t you cowards fight me head on?”

The duo didn’t even bother to respond to Aisha’s question. Everyone already knew the answer. If they fought with her up close and personal they’d wind up in the sewer system by next nightfall. Though Jim didn’t have a gun or his computer with him he tried to find other ways to help Aisha. While Alice tossed out more smoke bombs he picked up apples, oranges, and peaches that had spilled out of the overturned truck and launched them in every which direction. Though the pirates were stealthy and silent Aisha was very much like a raging bull. She might not know where they were but they certainly knew where she was. Her ferocious growls didn’t help. The catgirl breathed deeply trying to take in her prey’s scent but the smoke thwarted her. The fruit smacked into the sides of abandoned vehicles and nearby trash cans. The noise confused the pirates who’d been planning on bombing the clueless Ctarl Ctarl. They lost Aisha’s position due to Jim’s crafty little trick. Aisha however, being a Ctarl Ctarl, could tell the difference between the sounds flesh and fruit made when they impacted with something.

Roaring Aisha plowed into a startled Alice, “I usually prefer Terran males but you’ll do nicely.” Aisha gave her a very scary grin.

A small explosive impacted with her head and the resulting explosion sent Aisha flying back a good ten feet. Alice shouted as her red hair was singed and her kimono set aflame. She smothered it by rolling back and forth.

“Don’t throw them at her when she’s so close to me!” She shrieked at her brother.

“I’m sorry but it was the only way I could get that animal off of you.” He shot back defensively.

“I am NOT an ANIMAL!” Aisha bellowed in a very animal like manner.

“Yeah, you guys are the animals.” Jim snarled.

Lao turned towards the voice of the young boy who was still taking cover behind the overturned truck. The smoke had thinned enough to let him see the boy peering at them from behind his cover. Perhaps the fight might be somewhat easier if he was removed from the equation. With surprising speed for someone so short he went running towards Jim. Jim cursed, he was a better fighter than anyone else his age but he was nothing against a Kei pirate assassin.

“Jimmy!” Using her amazing Ctarl Ctarl speed she quickly overtook the pirate.

Grabbing him around the waist she spun and sent him spiraling through the air. He impacted with a brick wall. The assassin spat out what had remained of his teeth. The fight went on another good 10 minutes till sirens could be heard in the distance. It was just as well, the two pirates had run out of explosives. They’d even used the ones they had stored away in more intimate areas. It was very embarrassing and unprofessional for the two pirates when their two targets saw them fish inside places such as their pants, bra, and underwear to pull out deeply concealed last resort explosives.

“Enough of this, quickly, back to the hotel!” Loa cried, he turned to run.

He no longer had any smoke bombs with which to cover his escape. Picking up the lid to a trash can Aisha sent it spinning through the air clipping the pirate in the back of the legs. His knees buckled and he fell

“What’s the rush? I’ve got a nice vacancy right here!” Aisha smacked her thin athletic stomach, “It’s roomy and guess what? We’ve even have a hot tub! You’ll never wanna leave but I’m afraid you’ll only be able to enjoy your stay for a day or two. After that it’s through my intestines and out my ass!” Aisha let loose a harsh laugh.

Alice threw her final explosive. It was powerful enough to cause a nice sized crater in the street. Aisha, though a immortal Ctarl Ctarl, was momentarily brought to her knees.

“You talk too much.” Alice chastised her.

“Aisha!” Jim rushed up to her as the two pirates made their escape.

“You’re dead, both of you!” Alice yelled back at them
