“I’m sorry, I told him she wasn’t worth the risk,” John sniffled, as the irate man paced around the room, while rubbing his temples and trying to figure out what to do. Right after Jim went to get Aisha from Jerome’s ship, John had run as fast as he could back to Starwind and Hawking Enterprises to tell the others what was happening. With that awful Ctarl-Ctarl no longer there, John felt safe enough to return. Big mistake.
“So you let Jim run off on an enemy ship, to fight someone that already beat Aisha?” Gene barked at the cringing child. Gene was usually had a cool head, but when he found out that his crew was in danger, then he transformed into a very scary individual.
“I tried to tell her she wasn’t worth it, but did he listen? Noooooo,” John shook his head and felt a pang of guilt and shame. If he had been able to convince Jim how little Aisha cared for him, then he would be stand next to him.
“Well, I’m not surprised by Jim’s actions,” Gene grumbled, beginning to regain his composure. “Only a lady can make a boy act on such stupidity.”
“She’s no lady. Aisha is a Ctarl-Ctarl and they are all evil, monstrous killers and if Jim had any sense he would of left her to her kind, murders.” John growled, as he hunkered over and clenched his hands in anger. Because of that cat monster, he may of lost a very good friend for no apparent reason. He had so little and even that was being taken away by the Ctarl-Ctarls. He hated them so much that he wished that their whole race would disappear forever.
“You know kid, I’m all for ribbing on Aisha, but you’re taking it a little far. Just case Aisha has her rough points, doesn’t mean that she’s a complete monster.” Gene said with a sigh, Jim was so much better at this heart to heart crap.
“But she eats people. How can you say someone’s not a monster if they eat other people?” Jim asked.
“Kid, we all do things that can be seen in a bad light. Suzuki was a cold blooded assassin and I’ve sent my fair share of people to the great beyond, but does that make us monsters?” Gene inquired as he sat down next to John to better talk with him.
“That’s different,” John snapped back. “You were doing a job and those people were bad, Ctarl-Ctarls eat everyone, regardless of who they are.”
“True, but Aisha doesn’t. Her diet remains mostly of criminals and jerks. Two different sets of people that the universe could do without.”
“The key word here is ‘mostly’. How much do you want to bet that there are a few innocents in her kill list? Why is it that I’m the only one that sees that she’s a cold blooded killer?” John gave up and walked away from Gene. He couldn’t stay at Starwind and Hawking Enterprises, if the rest of the crew was as blind to see what a monster Aisha was, then he would save Jim by himself. Why did it seem that he was the only person blind in this whole Goddamn universe?
