Three solitary figures entered the Bebop looking downcast and weary. All of them had faces of men and woman who had tried to do their best and failed miserably. When the cheeriest member of the crew came out to greet them with warm smiles and friendly looks, they all stared at the only happy individual with hate and loathing. Seeing that her joy was being acknowledged roughly, the happy girl scampered away with her dog close at her heels. The three worn-out and overworked individuals took spots on the couch and collapsed next to one another. Finding nothing good on TV, they were forced to speak to one another.
“My bounty tried to play super hero and jump from rooftop to rooftop. I left when the cops showed up to peel him off the cement,” the man with green messy hair said between searching in his pockets for a cigarette.
“Mine, drove his car into a one-way alley and kept on going until he hit the wall,” the largest, baldest of the three said.
“I got the best,” the only woman of the three chuckled wearily. “My bounty was firing in the air and one of his bullets ricocheted off the wall and hit him between the eyes.” Both men had to admit, she did have the worst luck.
Spike, Jet and Faye said nothing for a minute, just reflected on how it seemed that nothing went their way in life.
“So, what’s for dinner?” Faye asked breaking the silence.
“Mushrooms, with a side of strained sprouts,” Jet replied without enthusiasm.
“I want meat,” Faye whined, holding her stomach and banging her feet on the ground.
“No money, no meat.” Spike said with indifference. He got up and headed out onto the hull of the Bebop to train a little before having his meager supper. Faye just frowned and left as well, why couldn’t she find a man with a little more oomph?
Finding herself in the hold, Faye took a seat and held her grumbling stomach, she had really wanted meat tonight. Herself loathing was interrupted when the resident pet of the Bebop strutted into the hold without his female companion. Ein panted and strutted to his empty food bowl. He nosed the empty dish a whined loudly. Faye had to chuckle at this, looks like she isn’t the only one suffering from the lack of food. After a hard days work, Faye’s mind was starting to play tricks on her and she felt a sudden need to have some meat now. Her eyes cast on Ein with a new light, in some countries dog is considered a dish. Licking her lips, Faye debated if she wanted to really eat the dog.
