It has been two years since Belldandy came to live with Keiichi Morisato. In all that time, Keiichi and Belldandy's relationship hadn't buldged one inch. The two had confessed thier love for each other nearly a year ago, but thier relationship was going nowhere fast. Keiichi just wasn't bold enough to ask Belldandy to marry him...or go on a romantic date with her even. Belldandy is so sweet and innocent that just thinking about romantic thoughts about her seemed wrong and dirty to Keiichi. He just didn't have the guts to ask her out on a date. This greatly vexed Urd, Belldandy's older sister to no end. Urd had tried to move Belldandy and Keiichi's relationship to the next level, but she was nearly always thawrted by Skuld. Skuld had refused to let Belldandy and Keiichi be togehter in the romantic sense. Her big sister deserved better, after all.
Urd styled herself being a goddess of love. Over the ages, she had came down to Earth and slept with several mortals. Of course, each time she came to the Earth she didn't get permission to go there. So, Urd was forced to stay with the mortal that was her lover for 100 years--or more--before she could return to Heaven. Being stranded on Earth wasn't so bad for Urd. She loved to hang around with mortals, seeing thier silly thoughts and sleeping with them. Urd watched her mortal lovers grow old and die several times. Being a goddess, Urd knew the day that the mortal would die..but she kept that infomation to herself. Looking into the eyes of a dying mortal can be interesting. A look of wonder sometimes shows on the mortal's face, or a look of contentment.
Urd wanted Belldandy to enjoy sleeping with a mortal. That's why she tried so hard to get Keiichi to take the next step in the relationship. But she was getting tired of the lack of boldness that Keiichi had. That mortal had no backbone. So, it was all up to Urd. Urd came up with a plan.
