A scroll depicting a forbidden jutsu belonging to a state archive were stolen, however, the particular scroll was archived under a low-security section of the archive, which led the mission to be regulated to Class C status.
It was the sort of mission younger, less experienced ninjas were sent on to sharpen their skills. And at first glance, it appeared to be an open and shut case.
"Three guards. Two with swords, one's got a long spear. They're spread around the hut."
"Anyone in the hut?"
"Nope. Just a locked chest. Looks similar to the chest described in the report."
"Simple. Then we send someone in to get the chest while the guards are distracted. Hinata?"
"Y...yes?"
"You'll go inside and retrieve the scroll."
Hinata nodded. The idea of being forced to kill someone wasn't one that appealed to her, and being sent in to do work that didn't come as fighting came as a small relief. Yet at the same time, she couldn't help but feel a bit left out. She was always viewed as the weakest in her cell, and relatively weak among the other ninjas. Heck, she was even too shy to admit her feelings for her friend Naruto, watching as he became entangled in a love triangle tighter than a spiders web.
Then again, this was a job, and none of that mattered at the moment. What did matter was that she had a job to do, and the other members of her cell were depending on her.
"Go."
Shadows in the dark surrounding the hut, the four ninjas of Team 8 made their move, attempting to take down the guards as quickly as possible. The first two went down like flies in the face of simple strikes.
However, when the ninja Kiba attempted to attack the third guard, he was swatted aside with a spear larger than he was, causing the ninja Shino and his sensei to look on concerned.
"So sorry, but no one shall enter until the time is right."
Quickly spinning his spear to point at the ninjas, the man assumed a fighting stance right in front of the doorway.
"By my honor, Lan Dao-sheng shall not allow you to pass!"
What he didn't realize was that Hinata had already entered the hut and unlocked the chest containing the scroll. Quickly, she saw the label.
"Giga no justu? That doesn't sound right..."
The noise of the battle from outside quickly interrupted her train of thought. She wasn't sure how serious it was however. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
