That Officer Jenny took her police work very seriously. Any minor crime was punishable by instant digestion inside her belly. Haruko had no plans on being anyone’s meal, especially to that bona fide meter maid. As Haruko was looking over her shoulder, someone walked up in front of her.
“You bitch!” Turning around slowly, Haruko saw a panting, sweaty Ed. After Haruko abandoned him at the restaurant, Ed had made a quick dash out of there before Officer Jenny could catch him. The officer had followed him out of the restaurant and he had only lost her after transfiguring a door into solid wood. Now, he wanted payback for Haruko’s comments back in the restaurant.
“You again,” Haruko groaned wearily. “I’m not in the mood to fight now. Why don’t you run back home to your gnome kingdom or wherever you live and leave me alone?” Haruko waved her hand, beckoning Ed to leave. The rude disregard he was getting made Ed’s blood boil. He gritted his teeth and raised his fist to strike, but something came between the two otherworlders.
“What the hell?” Ed screeched. A tall creature made of metal and wires had landed right in front of them. The thing that made Ed stare was the television screen where it’s head should have been.
“About time you got here Canti. I was starting to get worried that you got lost in Nantucket or something.” The obedient helper bot shook his head. The reason he was so late was because Naota’s grandpa had asked him to pick up some necessary supplies, namely porn and ramen. The robot was here to help Haruko track down the cloaked figure that was after Haruko. Ed walked around the robot, looking over his frame and checking for a blood seal. His first thought was that the robot was like his brother, Al, A soul trapped in a suit of armor. He looked into the large TV perched on the robot’s shoulders. He watched as the screen lit up and the face of a beautiful women appeared on it. The next thing Ed knew, the girl burst from the TV screen, falling on top of him. As Ed fell to the ground with the woman on top of him, three more people came out of the TV and fell to the ground. Two were women, both beautiful, one looking around eighteen, the other fourteen and the last person was a collage aged boy. They all stood up, except for the one sitting on Ed’s face.
Lazily, the girl sitting on Ed looked under her. She said, “I think I’m sitting on a midget.”
“I believe they like to be called the height challenged.” One of the girls said politely.
“Why did we have to travel through the TV. You know I always land funny,” the boy complained. He rubbed his sore back where he had landed hard.
“Um, who are you people?” Haruko asked. Everyone looked over at her, noticing her for the first time. The girl on top of Ed, stood up and walked over to Haruko and stuck her hand out.
“Urd, Goddess second class, in charge of the past. You may now bow before me in reverence.” Haruko grunted, she did many things, but bowing wasn’t one of them.
