This choice: Ed gets out from under Haruko somehow | Go Back

Chapter 75: Empty stomach means small boy   (ID #325790)
an addition by: chaos  More by this author

If there was one thing that Ed was, besides short, it was inventive. He could move his arms and that was all it would take for him to escape. He calculated Haruko’s body mass to the size of the room and deliberated the incline of the floor. Once his calculations were complete, he slapped his palms down on the floor and focused his mind on the task he had in mind. The ground that he was touching glowed and spread to the whole room. Immediately, the floor began bending and tilted away from where Ed was trapped. Haruko snored on, as she started to roll down the slanted floor, giving Ed enough room to crawl out. Ed ripped his breathing tube from his mouth and stared down crossly at Haruko’s sleeping mass. Haruko’s body was now pressed against the far wall, along with anything else not bolted down. Al stood up to say something, but Ed put his finger to his lips to hush his younger brother. He rubbed his hands together and began scheming a way to get even with the lump of lard that had nearly crushed him. A moment of reflection was all it took for him to come up with his solution. He’d use the one thing he could always rely on, Alchemy.

Ed placed both hands on Haruko’s side, feeling the small movements inside her. He focused once more and the bright glow returned. A blinding light filled the room and when it died down eight figures laid strewed all over the floor. Ed smiled to himself, only he could think of using alchemy’s ability to decomposition and reform, to remove everyone from inside each others belly. He really only wanted to get the everyone out of Haruko, but hadn’t wanted to take the risk of something going wrong. If he had reconstructed everyone with a person still inside him or her, the person might have accidentally mended with the stomach.

“What happened?” Mei mumbled, no longer able to feel anyone inside her stomach.

“Alchemy happened,” Ed boasted, pointing to himself proudly. Everyone gave Ed a disapproving glare; they had wanted to hold onto the people inside of them a little longer. However, it wouldn’t be that hard to get someone back inside of them later. No one was entirely bothered with no longer being eaten or having a swollen stomach, except for Haruko. She held her empty stomach and growled at Ed. He just smiled back at her, unafraid of her wrath. Sweeping the room with her eyes, Haruko spotted Mouse sitting up in the middle of the floor and stomped towards him. She picked him up by the scruff of his shirt and whispered something into his ear.

“Yes, It’s by the door. We brought it for Mii and Rongo, but what do you…” Haruko let go of Mouse, letting him fall back to the floor. She stomped out of the living room, heading for the front door. Ed watched her do with a shrug. She must of left to get some fresh air. Ed gave it no mind when Haruko came back, he missed the silver gun in her hand or the manacle smile she had. He did however notice the intense red beam she shot at him from the silver gun. Ed was caught off guard and didn’t even have time to scream. The beam hit him dead on and nothing seemed to happen. Blinking in confusion, he looked at his younger brother for answers, but got only more questions.

“Since when did you get so big Al?” Ed said looking at his brother who now towered over him by nearly five feet. He looked around the room and saw that everyone seemed bigger. He looked down at his feet and saw the ground coming up to meet him. He blinked and realized what was happening.

“Crap,” he grumbled as he reached one foot in height and continued to shrink. Haruko continued to shrink him down, until he was barely standing more then a couple inches
.
“Now you’re a real pipsqueak,” Haruko sneered, enjoying the look of total horror on Ed’s face.
