Junior leapt away from an incoming fireball, landing for only a second before he had to move again. In the last few minutes, the werewolves he had left to guard his hide out had been burned to a crisp before he could mount an offense, leaving him with no one to be of assistance to him. He was also so busy ducking her blast that he couldn’t concentrate on the collared prisoners and electrocute them. All of his careful planning was for naught, all because of this small-chested sorceress.

Lina Inverse was turning out to be a tougher opponent then he’d first assumed. The nearly limitless amount of power she was displaying was astonishing. Moments after casting one spell, she’d send another at him. It was like she had a bottomless magic reserve.
What Junior didn’t know was that Lina’s recent meals super charged her magic, giving her even more power then ordinary. This information was also unknown to Lina, who was trying to figure out how she’d gotten so powerful. Lina pushed Junior back until he was at the end of the cave. The attacks stopped, Lina began questioning the werewolf.

“Okay Rover, where are the hostages?” Lina was in no mood for talking. All this fighting had gotten her adrenaline pumping and she wanted to hurt someone bad. She hoped the werewolf didn’t cooperate, so she could ‘persuade’ him to speak.

“What hostages?” Praise to the goddess of gluttony, Lina’s pray has been answered. The next minute consisted of Lina tossing fireballs, lightening bolts and ice arrows at Junior, who tried to block the attacks with his forearms. When the barrage of spells ended, the smell of burnt fur filled the cavern.

“Where’s my mom and dad, you bastard?” James screamed behind Lina. He’d been watching the assault on the werewolf tribe, marveling at the power of Lina Inverse. Truly, she must be the Goddess of Gluttony to be able to dish out such heavenly retribution.

“If I remember correctly, I did eat an old couple a few hours ago. They were a bit stringy, but their blood washed down the taste quite well.” James let out a feral scream and rushed past Lina to get to Junior. He was out for the werewolf’s blood and reason had left him.

“Stop, you moron!” Lina screamed, but it was too late. Junior grabbed James and lifted him off the ground. With a mighty heave, he tossed James at Lina, who could do nothing more then be knocked down by the boy. While Lina was down, Junior rushed past her towards his escape. He passed by Amelia who was still standing in shock, unable to move. He winked at her before leaving; he had a feeling they’d meet again. By the time Lina was back on her feet, Junior was long gone.

“Damn it!” Lina swore. She gave James a dirty look for being so stupid as to fall into Junior’s trap. She left him on the floor to check on her companions. When she reached them, Amelia was kneeled over Zelgadis and Filia was shakily returning to her feet.

“What hit me?” Filia mumbled. Lina ignored her and joined Amelia’s side to look at Zelgadis. He was still out like a light.

“You two okay?” Lina asked and got nodes from both girls. Amelia was still naked and wasn’t bothering to cover herself because her only concern was for Zelgadis’s welfare. Right now, she could care less that she was nude. As they all stared down at Zelgadis, waiting to see of he’d awake, a loud, shrill voice shouted out from behind them.

“Goddess of gluttony Lina! Goddess of gluttony Lina! Where are you?”

“Oh man,” Lina grumbled and rubbed her forehead. It looked like James had gotten over his parents demise quickly. A little too quickly for Lina’s taste.

“Why is he calling you a goddess of gluttony? And where’s Gourry?” Filia asked questioningly. Lina laughed nervously, not totally sure how to answer those questions.
