This choice: Laharl makes the first move! | Go Back

Chapter 88: Beauty Vs. The Beast   (ID #352131)
an addition by: chaos  More by this author

Laharl began the duel, he drew his cards and looked over them carefully. His eyes lit up, when he saw one of the card he’d drew.

“Bwwwwaaaaaaaaa!” He laughed shrilly, making Yugi wince at the annoying laugh. “Truly you are doomed pathetic mortal, for I have drawn the most powerful, most awe inspiring, most insanely strong card from my deck. With it, I’ll crush you into paste, reducing your hopes and dreams to memories. The misery I will show you will make the hell I send you to seem like a happy dream. You will weep like a child at the terror of my card, the all mighty horror of this foul card that has been baptized in the blood of sinners in the third ring of hell. You are doomed, doomed I say. Doooooooooooomed.”

Laharl howled as he threw back his head and let out another laugh. Yugi stood and watched, feeling something boiling up to the surface. It wasn’t dread or fear, but an emotion that Laharl was very good at bringing out, annoyance.

“Would you play the freaken card already! I want to get this over with and go back to bed!” Yugi screamed. Making more noise then you’d think possible with such small lungs. Laharl flinched at Yugi’s screaming and backed away slightly. He wasn’t used to pathetic mortals screaming at him, it was scary. He regained his confidence when he reminded himself that he was the great and evil Laharl, no tiny human could frighten him.

“Save your screaming for when you are roasting in hell, for I am…”

“Play it already!” Yugi screamed, stopping Laharl’s monolog before it could get started.

“Alright, you don’t have to yell,” Laharl pouted and played his card. In a puff of smoke a monster appeared on the field. Yugi look intently out onto the field, trying to identify the monster Laharl had played. His eyes widened when he recognized the monster he’d played.

“Impossible, I thought it was only a myth,” Yugi whispered as he took in the monstrosity in front of him. It was a bright pink blob with blue polka dots, a tutu and hundreds of hard. Each arm was groping wildly around and covered with spikes and eyes. It’s face looked like it was drawn by Picasso, it had a nose where it’s right ear should be, a mouth turned horizontal where it’s left eye should have been and tiny blank eyes all over, one on it’s cheek another on its forehead and more elsewhere. It was a hideous, confusing monster that looked like it was made by an retarded monkey who drew it with his own waste.

“Stare in horror at the Guything! A monster once believed to be only a fairy tale by you weak-minded mortals. Created by Pegasus during the seventies when he was smoking his special cigarettes. So mystifying, that not even I know its power or defense. Is it strong? Is it weak? Attack and find out.” Laharl’s laughter filled the room again and Yugi played his first card.

“Go Dark Magician Girl, send Guything to the graveyard!” The beautiful, blond sorceress appeared on the field. She made a cute pose and faced the monster. At the sight of the ugly freaky thing, she wrinkled her nose in disgust. Why was she only sent out to fight the ugly monsters? Just once she wished she’d get to fight a hotty, like Flame Swordsman. He could light a fire under her any time.

Pointing her scepter at the ugly thing, she fired a condense blast of magic, hopefully this would send the ugly monster away.
