While Joey and DM continue to duel, Yugi has a little chat with Mai. "Say, uh...Mai?"
"What's up?" Huge Mai asked Diminutive little Yugi.
"Uh... I know this gonna sound weird but..." Yugi continues, "...Have you ever heard anything of some evil tree that makes people eat other people?"
Mai thinks back, "...You know what? ...I do remember SOMETHING involving a creepy tree...."

Flashback (Mai's narrative)

I was just getting off the 210 freeway... then all of a sudden I saw a dark-skinned guy with white hair in the middle of the road. I stopped RIGHT before I could hit him, but the minute I stopped the car, he pointed some strange golden rod in my face... and a bright light blinded my vision...

When the light cleared, I found myself in some weird forest... there was also a HUGE tree in the middle of the forest! Strange flowers were surrounded it, odd-looking fruit grew on the vines, I think I even saw lots of faces imprinted on the bark! Out of curiosity, I stepped toward this bizarre tree...
Just then, a weird form with roots popped out of the bark... it formed into some kind of wooden man with long leafy hair, a built chest, realistic six-pac, and legs that didnt have feet, but roots sticking through the ground! It... it stared at me with eerie blue-eyes that looked so authentic and smiled!

I wanted to run.. but just looking into it's eyes just made me step closer to it... that's when its arms around me and lip-locked me, sticking its branch-like tongue down my throat...
Just then, the roots wrapped around around my legs, the tongue went deeper into me and started pulling me into this man made of wood!! I couldnt run, couldnt scream, I could only watch as I slipped deeper into it!!

"Next thing I knew, I woke up back in my car with a strange... craving!"
"Wow..." Yugi stared in silent, "...This IS getting more and more stranger..."

Dark Magician overheard Mai's story and sweated in worry.... horrible memories started filling his head..

"Ankam... feast on our fruits..."
"Hmm? Honey? What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that? .......WHAT??!!"
"We shall give you unstoppable power! Accept our offerings!"
"What?! Ankam, my son! Put me down! Stop this nonse- Oh my god!!!!"
"None shall stand against you! Thy lay of those: those that oppose you!"
"Dad! Let me go! Please dont... no!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!!"
"Heheheheh... AHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!"

Tears started rolling down his eyes... whatever those voices were... must have plucked quite a bit of heart-strings!
Joey drew a card, "Allright!! I play the magic ca-"
"I FORFEIT!!!" Dark Magician shouts, "Hurry up and eat me..."
Joey just looks at him weird, "What? But I didnt even get to play my card! Why do ya wanna just give up like that?"

"You've won!" DM shouts, "...just eat me and make it quick!"
