Chapter 37: Being controlled by the need to control   (ID #308745)
an addition by: chaos  More by this author

Misty was breaking into a cold sweat, she didn’t want Sabrina to hug her little Ash, but she didn’t want to seem controlling. Her attitude towards Ash could be described as harboring on obsession. She wouldn’t let him out of her sight, she wouldn’t let other girls see him and she decided everything from what he wears to where he sleeps. It would seem too much, if you didn’t remember the circumstances that Ash was suffering from. Not even an hour ago, Misty left Ash and he ended up nearly eaten, most girls would probably eat Ash as soon as they see him and maybe her complete control over Ash was a bit much, but she only wanted the best for her only real friend, The life of a shrinkee is filled with suffering and heartache, so Misty wanted to make it has painless as possible, The ironic thing was that while she wanted Ash happy, all other shrinkees she wanted miserable. Some of the things she had done to shrinkees while Ash slept were down right sadistic; she still hadn’t found that one shrinkee that she crammed up her butt.

“I don’t know,” Misty muttered, trying to decide if she wanted to be the possessive girlfriend or trust Sabrina. Memories of the mean woman that liked to turn trainers into dolls was fresh in Misty’s mind, especially since she was one of those dolls.

“Come on Mist, let Sabrina hug Ash. Unless you’re afraid he’ll like being up against a real bust instead of your flat chest?” Casey added from the other side of the table, she was dunking her third shrinkee into a saucer of soya sauce. His screams and begging were being muffed every time he was submerged into the salty sauce. His begging turned into a scream when Casey tossed him into her mouth and started licking off the sauce. She was about to swallow, but Misty stopped her by grabbing her by her Electabuzz jersey. The sudden tug, triggered Casey’s spit reflex and her tiny saliva covered snack went flying to the other side of the table beside Ash.

“Never…” Misty growled. “Make fun of…” taking a deep breath to suppress the urge to punch. “My breasts.” Misty’s eyes were practically glowing with rage as Casey looked at her scared shitless by the anger coming from Misty. Even the calm and cool Sabrina was backing up from Misty, seeing someone this angry unnerved even the most composed of people, The only person not scared by Misty was Ash. Maybe it was that he knew and trusted Misty with his life, or maybe it was just because he couldn’t see the murderous look in her eyes. Whatever the cause, he just went back to eating his lunch, giving the altercation in front of him no mind at all.

“Okay Mist, I got it,” Casey said, while waving her hands in a calming gesture. Taking a deep breath, Misty tossed Casey back in her seat and sat back down.

“Don’t call me Mist,” Misty said curtly, to which Casey replied quickly with a nod. The dispute started to calm down, so Sabrina decided to get back to her original question.

“So, could I hold Ash, please?” Misty was going to give an automatic no to Sabrina’s question, until she looked at Ash. He was peacefully sitting on a plate of food munching on the oversized meal; he was unworried about Sabrina, so why should Misty be? The more Misty tried to justify refusing Sabrina’s simple request, the more she felt petty and controlling.

“Alright, you can hold him, but you do anything funny and I’ll kick your butt. Your psychic powers may be strong but a good left hook will knock you out, no matter how many spoons you can bend.” Misty’s threat was answered to by a patronizing smile, which only incensed Misty further.

“You really must do something about your anger, perhaps you should to play with some shrinkees before you hurt someone not a few inches tall.” Grudgingly, Misty nodded, she had been on edge since losing Ash at the last restaurant and she ought to vent some of her frustration on some unlucky shrinkee before she blows a gasket. Noticing the still disoriented shrinkee that Casey spit up on the table, Misty snatch him up and put him in the pocket of her shorts. After lunch, she could express her fury on the ill-fated shrinkee and stop being such a control freak.

“Come here Ash,” Sabrina merrily said while outstretching a hand for him to crawl on to. Trusting and naïve Ash hopped onto Sabrina’s palm and grabbed her middle finger as she pulled her hand to her chest. Gently she placed Ash in her bosom and lightly held him to her body. Ash held his arms out and hugged as much of Sabrina as his tiny body would allow. They held the position for over a minute, both with their eyes closed and a blissful smile on their faces. It was an affectionate and loving moment and it practically dripped with tenderness.

“Aaaaaahhhhh,” Casey sighed, getting misty eyed at the touching sight of two dear friends getting along.

“Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr,” Misty growled, feeling none of the affection or warmth that Casey was getting from this sight. She was going to interject after the first minute, but was stopped when she saw Ash let go of Sabrina. Misty waited another moment for Sabrina to let go, but she just kept on holding on.

“Okay, that’s enough,” Misty said grabbing Ash from Sabrina and cautiously holding him in her clenched hand. She looked him over to see if anything had been done to him that she missed seeing. Ash looked up at Misty in confusion as she prodded him for any bruises.

“Misty I’m fine,” Ash said trying to make Misty’s paranoia go away. “The hug actually felt kinda nice.” This was the wrong thing to say because Misty immediately deflated and became depressed. Ash felt like hitting himself when he saw what his careless comment had done to Misty.

“But your hugs are better.” Misty became melodically and smiled at her Ash. He may put his foot in his mouth all the time, but he was still her little Ash and that was all she needed.
