Chapter 128: How much can one bleeding heart take?   (ID #378242)
an addition by: chaos  More by this author

Daisy, Casey and Misty walked towards Oldale all day. Their tiny friends stayed on their respective best friend’s shoulder, talking to them when they got bored. Long, endless traveling were Misty and Casey’s specialties. The two girls had walked from one coroner of the planet to the next in their Pokemon quest. The only time they stopped was when the sun started to go down.

“We’d better stop. Walking during the night can be dangerous with wild Pokemon roaming around,” Misty said, turning to a small field to the side of the road where they could rest for the night. The party didn’t argue, they all felt like taking a nice rest from their traveling. Daisy dropped down first, taking her shoes off and rubbing her sore feet.
“I don’t know how you girls walk so much,” the older girl said with a sigh. She thought that she was fit, but while she felt like collapsing, the other girls looked like they could walk another fifty miles.

“I don’t know about Casey, but I think my saunter is so great because of my good luck charm that I let sleep in my shoe.” Misty picked Ash off her shoulder and carefully sat on the ground cross-legged. She put Ash on her knee and rubbed the top of his tiny head with the tip of her finger. Her finger brushed his tiny hat off and started messing up his hair. Ash playfully tried to remove her finger, but couldn’t get the digit to move. Misty stopped and picked up Ash’s hat between her two fingers carefully and handed it to him. Daisy watched the two interact, noticing the familiarity between them.

“Misty, there are a few things I want to discus with you about Ash and the way he’s treated,” Daisy said slowly. The subject she was approaching was a very touché subject with Misty and she needed to tread carefully. Ash’s treatment was very important to Daisy and she wanted him properly cared for in his ailing condition.

“Can’t we talk about this later, like maybe never.” Misty didn’t care for Daisy telling her what to do. She’d been taking care of Ash fine before Daisy entered the picture, why did she need to hear this whiny girl’s opinion? Misty had escaped the over protective mother of Ash Ketchum, she didn’t need the over protective old friend to replace her.
Daisy’s face became stone hard. When it came to Ash’s health and wellbeing, she couldn’t accept later. “No, we’ll talk about it now.” Stressing the ‘now’.

“Fine,” Misty grumbled, seeing no way out of this talk.

“Before you guys start yapping to one another about Ash’s safety and all that bull, can we eat?” Casey bemoaned. They hadn’t eaten since leaving the ship and Casey was having a major case of the munchies. She needed another Shrinkee to sate her appetite for the tiny, struggling morsels or she’d never be able to sit still. A nice calming meal, slowly dying of suffocation and digestive enzymes inside her would calm her down.

“Please, anything to get out of another speech about Shrinkee’s rights and how all life is sacred and shit,” Misty sarcastically said with a roll of her eyes. Daisy opened her mouth to complain, but closed it when she noticed she was hungry too. Giving up on talking to Misty for now, Daisy resumed rubbing her sore feet and waiting for Casey to serve supper.

Casey hummed to herself happily and rummaged through her backpack until she found what she was looking for. She pulled her hand out of the bag and came up with three squirming Shrinkees.

“Bon appetite.”

Daisy stared at the Shrinkees dumbly. Had Casey kept them in her bad all afternoon? In that dark, clammy backpack, they must have been terrified. One of them looked like he was suffering from heat stroke. Daisy couldn’t understand how Casey could do that to any living thing, especially someone that used to be a person. Daisy leaned forward and glanced into Casey’s bag. She was horrified to find dozens of squirming tiny naked men inside, piled on top of one another. Some of them had bruises and other injuries from scrambling around inside the backpack all afternoon. Daisy took a sharp in take of breath when she saw that several had died at the bottom of the bag, probably from being trampled by the others.

“Hey, Daisy, you want one?”

“What?” Daisy murmured, feeling lightheaded after seeing the rough conditions the Shrinkees were in. She looked at Casey and saw she was holding one Shrinkee in her mouth. He was being held down lightly between her teeth, hard enough that he that he wouldn’t be cut in half, but still remain still. Casey’s tongue was lashing out at his legs and lower torso. Her tongue momentarily tickled his toes, making him laugh among screams of help. Casey got tired of her game and closed her lips around him. Sucking him in slowly, Daisy saw his tiny face gripped in unimaginable terror before Casey slurped him all in and swallowed. Daisy’s eyes followed a tiny wiggling lump in Casey’s throat as it disappeared under her collarbone.

“I love the sweaty ones, they always go down so easily,” Casey giggled, taking her time licking the Shrinkees taste off her lips. She returned her attention back to Daisy. “So, you want one?”

“No!” Daisy said, appalled that Casey would ask.

“Too bad, because Shrinkee is all we got to eat. I stocked up on Shrinkees on the boat and only got enough bread for Ash and Brad.”
“Then what am I supposed to eat?” Daisy asked exhaustedly. Casey just showed her the Shrinkee in her hand, cowering in all his tiny naked glory. The sight of him made Daisy shudder, but at the same time, it also made her stomach growl. She was so tired of everything, the hostility, the tricks, the sorrow, and all of it. You could only push a girl so far.
