The siren belonged to a police squad car. It pulled up outside the shop. Two police officers got out and walked in.
"Ok what's happening here?" asked the one officer.
The shopkeeper pointed to the robber. "That man tried to rob us," she said. "He shot that man in the leg (referring to Ted). He needs to go to the hospital."
"Right." Th office speaks into his walkie-talkie requesting a ambulance. After that he looks at Mary. "Hey I recongnise you."
"You do?" replied Mary.
"Yes you're that new woman with the L.A. Hot Rods."
"Yeah that's me."
"If you don't mind I would like an autograph please."
"I'm sorry but I'm not in the mood my husband has just been shot."
"Oh how stupid of me."
A few minutes later the ambulance arrived. They loaded Ted onto it. But just before they left Mary gave the officer her autograph. She went onto the ambulance and went to the hospital with Ted.
