Just before the tournament was set to start everyone had to draw out their numbers. This would be how they matched who fought how.
One thing was for sure. No one was unbeatable. Everyone could beat one type of power but lose to another type. For example Elizabeth's darkness powers would be excellent against most people. But one who could see in the dark would make her powers useless.
Cindy was the first to pick out a number. She got out the lucky number 7. Elizabeth picked the number 40. Robbie picked 26. Vanessa picked 14
But then it was Gwen's turn. They had to raise the box up for her so she didn't have to bend down for it. She put her large hand in the box and she pulled out her number. She was number 55.
"Great who am I against?" asked Gwen.
"No one," replied the Referee. "No one's picked number 56 yet."
"Oh I see."
Eventually the numbers were drawn. Cindy was against a student who could create earthquakes. Elizabeth was against a girl who was super athletic. Robbie a guy who could bend light. Vanessa had one who was like a mole.
But Elizabeth had a difficult challenge her opponent had super speed.
