The next day the next round of the tournament took place. Vanessa was up against the girl who could create Earthquakes. Vanessa wanted some revenge on the defeat of Cindy the previous day. It wasn’t particularly bad blood. It was just a little revenge.
The Commentators were getting excited over this one. They knew that this was going to be a good match.
“Well we have Vanessa here,” said One Commentator. “But she’s up against a difficult opponent. Will she be able to copy the powers?”
“I don’t know,” replied the other Commentator. “If this match is anything like my dialing tone at home this can be unpredictable. It might be a very dull and annoying match. But it could also be very exciting.”
“Thanks for that. I think they’re about to start.”
Just then the match bell rang and both girls came into the centre of the arena. The ground was shaking and Vanessa was absorbing the earthquake powers.
“Don’t think my power is going to save you,” said her opponent. “You can’t possible control it.”
“Did anyone tell you I’m a fast learner,” replied Vanessa.
Just then there was a shake that measured 8 on the Rictor Scale.
