As Gwen ate the meal her grandma could tell that she was upset. She held Gwen’s large hand and gave her a comforting smile.
“What’s wrong Gwen,” said her Grandma.
“Nothing,” replied Gwen.
“I can tell when you’re upset. You can never fool your Granny. But if you don’t want to talk about it I’ll respect your decision.”
“It’s alright. It’s just that I’m still having difficulties with my height. I just scared off a guy. It’s just like High School all over again.”
“It’s not all bad. You’re a beautiful person both inside and out. Those kind of guys just want appearance. They don’t care what they’re like inside. You’re one of the most beautiful and kindest people I know.”
“It’s not just that. I’m still growing.”
“You’re a teenager that’s what you do.”
“But its making me feel like a freak.”
“But you’re not a freak. So maybe you’re taller then everyone else. But at least you don’t look down on people.”
