Gwen then got up and gave her grandma a hug. She made sure that she didn’t accidentally hurt the old woman. But she was really happy for what she had said to her. She felt that she was one of the few people who truly understood her and not think of her as a freak.
“Now tell me do you have a boyfriend?” asked Gwen’s Grandma.
“Well I am dating someone,” replied Gwen.
“What does he look like?”
“Well he’s tall and good looking. Like me he was also outcast but not because of his height. I have many friends at the school I go to. We have our own little circle of friends. There’s one who’s a Goth but still a nice person.”
“Well that’s the thing. You never know who truly is nice and who truly is horrible. I watch some of those murder documentaries. Obviously some of the people on there are psychopaths. But others seem to be sweet and innocent.”
“I guess you can never tell.”
“But I can tell you’re a sweet girl who does the best she can do to help people in her life and of strangers.”
“And you’re a sweet old lady.”
