Rose and James spend some of the day gathering firewood. James would get sticks but Rose was able to get whole tree trunks. Eventually it was time for dinner.
"Now James do you know how to make fire?" asked Rose.
"Fire?" replied James.
"Yes fire. We'll need it if we want to eat this tasty fish." She gets two very large trunks. Large enough for her to use. "Now we just rub these trunks together." She puts one trunk on the ground. Then she rubbed it with the other trunk. After a few seconds a small flame appeared. Then she grabbed that trunk and put it on the pile of sticks. "Now we just wait a few minutes for it to get going." A few minutes later the fire was really going. "And now you have fire."
James runs at her scared. He grabs her leg and wouldn't let go.
"F-f-fire," said James with fear in his voice.
"Don't tell you're afraid." James nodded at her. Then she picked him up. "It's ok as long as you're careful it won't hurt you. Now lets start cooking that fish."
She gets a very long stick and she pokes it through the fish. Then she puts it over the fire.
