"What?" asked Rose.
"I can't get it out," replied James.
"Let me help you."
Rose then grabbed onto James and she began to pull. But at first it seemed that the splinter wasn't going anywhere. She didn't want to pull any harder in case she hurt James in any way.
"Is it almost out?" asked Rose.
"No it hasn't moved," replied James.
"You don't mind if I pull harder?"
"If it can get this thing out try it."
Rose then began to pull a little harder and the splinter seemed to move a little. This made them both happier but it was still in there. It was moving very slowly but it definitely was coming out.
After a minute the splinter came out of Rose's hand. There was a huge sigh of relief from the both of them.
"That got it," said James.
"Thank you," replied Rose. She then kissed him.
