The married couple with their baby ran away and went to the authorities to report the body. They easily found it again since Jean was still there. She still towered about the trees and they seemed like toys to her.
Within an hour there were many police there looking for clues. Some people took the body away to the morgue.
The police thanked Jean and the others for their help. But they just wanted to get away. The stench of the rotting corpse still made them feel sick. But by now it was getting late and it was nearly time for Jean's show.
She took Maria, Remy and their baby back to where they were staying. She gave them all a hug goodbye and she went back to the circus.
When she got there Boris was there waiting to give her something to eat while she waited for her turn to come into the show.
"Here Jean have some food," said Boris.
"No thank you," replied Jean. "I feel sick."
"Why what is wrong?"
"I found a dead body."
"Where?"
"In the forest."
