Thankfully for Jean the show went without a hitch. The performances were some of the best that they had ever performed. No one had been hurt from anyone so that was good. Also no one really considered Jean as a freak. Instead they held her as if she was one of them.
Backstage after the show the carnies were all playing a few simply games with each other. One in particular was that someone said a word and the other person had to say a word that connected to that word.
"Meat," said one of the Performers.
"Cow," replied another Performer.
"Animal," said Jean.
A game like this could go on for hours. But they weren't allowed to use a word that had already been used by someone else.
Everyone was involved even Boris. He sat next to Jean and she would smile at him from time to time. She really loved his company. He reminded her of home a little. She had known a Russian man where she use to work. Well that's before her freak accident of course.
"Grass," said Boris.
