He wants an explanation for this development. You explain to him that it was your idea (even though it was really Shelly's) and he understands.
"You realize, of course," the professor tells Shelly, "that there is no way to restore you to normal size, don't you, young lady?"
Shelly says: "Yes, I understand! I always wanted to be a giantess!"
Shelly's normal size was five feet tall. She had been really short before, so it's understandable that she wanted to be bigger. Now that she's one hundred feet tall, she's twenty times bigger than she was before. In other words, twenty inches to us seems like one inch to her. To her, a man who stood six feet eight inches tall would be four inches tall to Shelly.
