darla looked down at the man she loved and smiled very gently like that smile that a mother filled with encouraging love has for a boisterous but mischevious child.honey?..HONEY!..WILL YOOU you please put down that game so we can go to dinner?Damnnn.. you dont have to be so loud, geezI was almost done any way darla, the restraunt will still be there. jay rolled off the couch to find her behind the back of the couch smiling,he of course couldn't resist the urge to smile back leaning over the couch he kissed her on the side of her neck.
The drive to town always irritated jay not because of any one reason but because of ALL the reasons,it would undoubtedly result in long night of drinking and partying wich although fun had of late lost some of its luster, the prospect of nnot spending the evenings with their varitable army of friends seemed like a light at the end of a very lonnngg long tunnel. So when they got the invite to go to dinner with her parents he felt it a welcome change, and a good oppurtunity to tell them the big news finally after 7 years of courtship they would be married. The family would undoubtedly be ecstatic as they had been pestering them for well,..like forever.Knowing this would be a night of celebration,..for a real reason in longer than he could remember made jay feel better about the prospect of being surrounded by the"usual suspects" aka his and darlas closest circle of friends.pulling into the parking lot of the small shopping mall, the kind with the modern day,sudo-yuppy crap resturaunts like chilis, olive gardens, and tony romas,he made his way to the outback steak house that was their latest favorite and immediately saw john stepping off the curb to open the door for his wife, still such the gentleman jay thought aloud, darla looked at him, what sweetie? your dad jay said giving a waving finger in his direction, still the galant romeo of the old school he said smiling,he always respected that of darlas parents, they seemed to retain a certain air of mischief and romance that just,..well permiated an obvious successful marriage.
