"Even if there isn't a mission, I still have to keep in shape!" Naruto said told himself determinedly.

So he ran into a clearing in the woods, far from the village, where he could train in peace. He started by doing some stretches first, to get limbered up. After that, he began to run through the exercises Kakashi had shown him and his squad as training. Naruto was at it for hours, skipping lunch and continuing through dinner, hour after hour, almost with no breaks. Naruto had never felt such energy before! By the time the sun was setting, he was sweaty, dirty, and tired, but he had never felt better! He wiped the sweat from his gleaming forehead and jogged back to the village. He quickly made it back to his house, entered, and locked the door behind him. He proceeded from there to the bathroom, to get himself cleaned up before getting something to eat and going to bed. He didn't take long in the shower. He washed the sweat away, swept over his body with the soap and shampooed his hair before turning the water off and drying off. With only the towel on, he heated up some ramen and quickly ate that.

He yawned loudly as he tossed the towel back into the bathroom and crawled into bed, too tired to put his pajamas on. He was asleep within minutes, a trickle of drool running from the side of his mouth.
