This business with the giants had slowly been driving a wedge between the normal people of the village and the giants and between the giants themselves. It wasn't good for the whole of the village and it needed to be stopped. He quickly jumped up to the window at Tsunade's office and said, "We need to talk."
Tsunade jumped and quickly rolled another scroll up. "You know you're not supposed to come in that way. What if I had dust out?"
Jiraiya walked into the room and said, "That dust is exactly what I've come to talk to you about."
Tsunade tucked the scroll away in her shirt and said, "Are you worried?"
"Of course I'm worried." Jiraiya said. "I've been watching the people of the village and how they've been dealing with this situation. The primary emotions throughout the village have been anger and jealousy. The giant situation hasn't been good for the village and the more you experiment with it the worse it's going to get."
Tsunade sighed and said, "Jiraiya. This business has done nothing but improve our standing in the world. No one would be fool enough to attack us with so many giants on our side. Why should we stop now? Frankly, it doesn't matter how big the giants get since they can shrink down to normal size and interact with the normal people of the village."
Jiraiya frowned and said, "Well suppose one of them decided they don't want to follow the ways of the village anymore? What would stop them from destroying the village?"
Tsunade stood up and said, "The other giants of course."
Jiraiya walked over to Tsunade's desk and said, "What if all the giants decide to leave?"
Tsunade smiled and said, "Well then we simply make a scroll with a stronger controlling force. Even if Naruto tried to leave we could use scrolls on the other giants to not only increase their size but increase our dominance over them."
Jiraiya looked shocked as he heard this. "Tsunade are you listening to yourself? You're starting to sound like Orochimaru! Do you really want to subjugate the entire village?"
Tsunade frowned and said, "I guess I never really thought about it like that...You're right Jiraiya. This power is too much for the village. We should cut our losses now and try to improve the relationships with the people of the village. However, I don't want to waste this."
She pulled out the scroll and said, "So the only question is, who do we give it to?"
Jiraiya thought for awhile and said, "How strong is it?"
Tsunade shook her head. "I have no idea. The dust is even finer than the dust I used on Lee so it's safe to say it'll make someone over 20 times their size."
Jiraiya frowned as he heard this. "I'm not sure we should use it on anyone. It could make things much worse."
Tsunade shook her head again and said, "We have to use it. What if the scroll falls into the wrong hands? And I'm not just talking about Akatsuki. Sasuke has been nothing but trouble since he grew so I don't want him getting this scroll. There's a reason he's the smallest right now."
Jiraiya nodded and said, "Well then who? Definitely not Iruka. He's big enough as it is."
Tsunade started listing names off, "Choji could use it. I don't think he'd make much trouble though his obsession with food could make trouble. The last thing we need is a rampaging Akimiji. Then there's Shino. He's already a bit too big I think though he wouldn't make trouble either. Kiba is out as well as Naruto and Kakashi since they have too great a base height. Asuma is another idea."
Jiraiya snapped his fingers and said, "What about Shikamaru? He's not too big and he's already proven his loyalty before. Not to mention he's so lazy he's not likely to make trouble."
Tsunade bit her lip and said, "I suppose it would be better to have someone too lazy to do anything than someone who might turn on the village or otherwise make trouble. Alright, Shikamaru it is."
She handed Jiraiya the scroll and said, "Deliver it to him and make sure he grows in a clear area away from the village. I'm going to send Shizune and myself out into the village to start repairing our bonds."
Jiraiya nodded and said, "If we're not careful Akatsuki will take advantage of our disunion and attack. We have to be ready."
Tsunade nodded slowly and said, "I just hope they'll listen." Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
