An idea suddenly came to her and she acted on it. She turned to Jiraiya and whispered something in his ear. Jiraiya frowned and whispered something back. Tsunade gave him a dark look and nodded. Jiraiya turned and left. Tsunade turned back to the elders and said, "I've decided on the perfect way to punish you three."
"How dare you threaten us Tsunade." Koharu said softly. "After all we've done for this village since your grandfather started it. Have you no respect?"
Tsunade laughed harshly and said, "You three don't deserve respect. I'm going to make you think twice about trying something like this ever again."
Homura stared steadily at Tsunade and said, "What would you have done in the first place Tsunade? A war is on the village's doorstep. Two clans that had been at war since the very beginning. Are you saying you would've let this destruction be unleashed?"
Tsunade shook her head. "I would've found a way to solve the problem with no bloodshed."
Danzo suddenly looked furious as he shouted, "You stupid woman! Do you truly believe the Uchiha were to be reasoned with? Those power hungry demons would've slaughtered this entire village for their damned pride and you would've just let them do it! I can see it in your eyes! You're a dreamer, one who can't possibly understand the harsh realities of this world!"
Tsunade stared levelly at Danzo and said, "No. You're wrong. I'm not living in a dream. You are living in a haze of distrust and fear. You couldn't possibly understand the bonds that run through this village. The First, the Second, the Third, the Fourth...they all understood those bonds. And so do I."
No one else had time to say anything else. Jiraiya had returned with Sasuke at his side. The three elders realized what Tsunade was thinking and Koharu quickly said, "Tsunade beware what you're about to unleash. Remember the sins of the past. Don't do something you'll regret."
Tsunade smiled coldly and said, "That's sound advice. All those years ago, perhaps you should have heeded it."
With that she turned to Sasuke. Staring him straight in the eye, she explained everything to him. All the details of war, of coups, of his brother, of his entire family, and of Madara as well, she told him all. When she was finished Sasuke was left in shock his entire world view changed in an instant. The shock was slowly replaced with rage. He started growing, filling the council room until he was at his full height of twenty feet. Tsunade had been expecting this. Sasuke charged for the elders, hands outstretched to grab, to hit, to destroy. Instead, he found them grabbed by Tsunade. Using her great strength she managed to hold him in place though it was obviously taking great power.to stop him.
"Sasuke stop! You can't kill them! That is the one punishment that is forbidden! If we were to kill them the balance of the Leaf Village, of the country of Fire, of the other countries and villages could all be disrupted. Distrust and fear could spring up and we could be looked on as dangerous rogues. Instead, I'm allowing you to decide their fate."
It took awhile but eventually Sasuke was back to his normal size, dwelling on a punishment for the elders. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
