Madara sat in a sealed room, wondering what he should do next. If all his years had only taught him one thing it was that one should never leave anything without making insurances. He could tell the time until Pain's attack on him was growing shorter by the second. And Pain's eyes was one of the few things that could harm him. Another was another powerful eternal sharigan.

"It would be far better if Pain defeated Konoha at the cost of his own life," Madara thought, a smile came to his masked face. "And the best way to ensure that would be for Pain's secrets to be known." With this, Madara began his work.

Madara sped through the forests to where he knew he'd find one of Jiraiya's informants. Carefully, as a disguised man from the Rain Village, he spoke of secret information regarding the leader of the Akatsuki, including that he could control two bodies at once at a bar with other shinobi. Jiraiya's informant worked well and by the next day, Jiraiya will of received this crucial information.

"And if Pain does die, I can always wait a few more years for the right moment to corrupt a young Uchiha," Madara thought, smiling once again. Either way, it was win-win for him.
