In all of the chaos that had been started by one small bottle, most everyone with common sense had evacuated the village whether it was by taking refuge in the Hokage Mountain or simply leaving the village itself. However, there were a certain few that stayed behind and didn't evacuate. These were the people who decided to take advantage of the village's disarray to profit themselves. One such notable person was Konohamaru. He had watched, from the Academy grounds, Naruto expanded into the sky. Knowing something big was going on he managed to slip away while Iruka was gathering the other students to evacuate and made his way towards the giant Naruto. A few minutes later he had been thrown to the ground as Kiba erupted from an apartment building, totally dwarfing Naruto. More determined now to know what was going on, the ninja in training ran full tilt towards Naruto. By this time both Kiba and Naruto (and Shikamaru, though Konohamaru didn't know it) were searching out the bottle. By the time Kiba had grabbed both Naruto and Shikamaru, Konohamaru was only a few steps away. Of course, no one took notice of him and he didn't even have to worry about trying to disguise himself. He had been about to approach Naruto and find out what was going on when he saw Shikamaru drinking from something. When Shikamaru jumped down to Kiba's foot Konohamaru saw that Shikamaru had a bottle in his hand. It didn't take a genius to be able to put two and two together especially when Shikamaru started growing. Konohamaru quickly ran from the expanding feet, nearly tripping and getting overtaken by the lazy ninja's growing body, but successfully escaping death by hiding between Shikamaru's toes. He caught his breath as he tried to figure out what to do next. It would extremely difficult to even think of taking the bottle from Shikamaru at this point. The genius ninja was more like a living mountain to Konohamaru.

In a stroke of good luck Shikamaru stepped outside the village and sat down, near to where Konohamaru was (which was next to the gate). Konohamaru was about to go after Shikamaru when he saw Kiba dash past him over the gate. Konohamaru knew a shortcut out of the village and quickly took that ending up next to one of Shikamaru's hands. He watched as Kiba stole the bottle and ran into the forest. Konohamaru wasted no time and followed after him. He caught up with the dog ninja when he was opening the bottle. If Kiba drank the contents it would be over for him! He'd no doubt get even bigger than Shikamaru making his attempts totally futile! Thinking fast Konohamaru pulled out several smoke bombs and did the only thing he could think of doing: he launched them directly into Kiba's eyes. The smoke bombs exploded with full force blinding Kiba. The smoke was then inhaled into his super sensitive nose blocking out all of Kiba's senses except for abject misery. The bottle came crashing down from his hand, landing a few feet in front of Konohamaru knocking him to the ground. This was his chance! The bottle was bigger than he was but he wasn't going to let that stop him! When he drank from that bottle he'd be recognized as more than just the Third Hokage's grandson! Something much, much, more!

He climbed up the bottle and looked into it. It was filled with a mysterious liquid that he had never seen before but he wasn't about to let that stop him. He knew exactly what it would do when he drank it. Leaning over he stuck his face into the liquid and started inhaling, gulping down mouthful after mouthful. Kiba, his eyes finally clear and his nose no longer howling with pain, looked blearily down and saw the Academy student drinking the bottle! He reached down and flicked the boy off the bottle , sending him flying into a clearing. He brought the bottle to his lips again and was about to drink when
