Jason finishes collecting his clothes and then goes to the food court. He sees his frat brothers are all there five minutes early with the largest table completely covered with trays of food.

While Jason knew he was going to have to eat, he wasn't expecting this much - and he suddenly realises that what he should do, to make it easy on him, is to change into bigger clothes, or at least bigger pants. He tries to duck quietly into the nearby washroom, and succeeds - at least, he hears no hoots or hollers, so he figures the frat brothers didn't see him. He quickly dons the next size up in jeans and polo, then heads out again, trying to look casual.

"Hey, there he is! Jason, look what we have for you!" says one of the taller frat brothers, Matt, who's only a year ahead of Jason. (Jason has noticed that the most enthusiastic of his stuffers and teasers are the sophomores - the juniors and seniors seem a lot more laid back.) "You got some new duds? Good, you're going to 'break' them in by eating ALL of this!" Matt adds, one thin arm indicating the whole table of food.

"Sure," says Jason, adopting a cocky bravura that he doesn't quite feel inside. "Bring it on!" he adds, slapping his gut with one hand. The frat brothers crow as he seats himself at one end of the table, and grabs a slice of pizza.

"Go, fat boy, go!" several of them jeer, and a female onlooker says to her companion, "Can he really eat all that?" Overhearing her, Matt replies loudly, "If he doesn't, he has to walk home!"

Jason steadily chews his way through the table full of food. When one of the brothers tries to stuff more into his mouth too quickly, he swats him away - easy enough to do when you outweigh the guy by 60 pounds, he reflects, which means as his weight increases, it'll get even easier! Hamburgers follow pizza, french fries follow subs, all washed down with copious amounts of soda pop and coke, and gradually the new jeans begin to feel tight, and Jason begins to feel full. He looks at the table, hiding his anxiety about actually finishing well, until it strikes him that, if he doesn't finish all the food, he can still take a bus back to the frat house... Reassured by this plan B, he ploughs into the remaining food with new vigour.

Jason eats and eats, slowing gradually, until....
