(this part really is going to be after waking the dragons but before the switch over to GX((aka duel academy)) )

Alex yawned as he sat on his bed editing his deck after once again having lost to one of his friends. "Alright this card for this one and this monster goes well with that trap and spell combo..." He trailed off in his own thoughts until he heard a noise coming from beyond his closed bedroom door. He crept over to the door and opened it slightly to peek around the edge. Instead of the two doors that led to his sibling's room and the bathroom, there was a long hallway with dim lighting and what seemed like dozens of doors. He put on a pair of shorts and left his door open with a chair blocking it, to keep it from closing on him. He walked down the hall and noticed that each door had the name of an anime printed in gold lettering. His eyes widened as he quickly walked down the hall until he found the door he had been looking for. There in front of him was a door with YU-GI-OH printed on it.

He ran back to his room through his open door and got dressed, remebering deodorant this time. He grabbed his deck case, and backpack with the three binders full of his collection and walked back into the hallway, closing his door behind him this time. He arrived back at the YU-GI-OH door and opened it and walked through.

When he blinked away the brightness he realized he was in an alleyway. He walked out of the alley and noticed he was in Domino City. He looked around and in the distance he could easily see Kaiba Corp. He heard some people talking and coming his way and he ducked back into the alley. 'Wait why am i hiding. These are all normal people in this anime. Well except for a few.' He walked back out of the alley and bumped right into yugi moto's group. "Oh sorry, i really need to pause before going around corners." He laughed slightly. He opened his eyes and noticed who he had bumped into. He looked at the three that were eye level with him then down at the small boy with hair half as tall as his body. He blinked for a second then backed up and looked around at his surroundings. He realized that he had walked out of an alleyway right nearby yugi's grandfather's shop and the young boy's home. "wow what a place to be dropped out at." The four of them looked at him like he had lost his mind for a second. "Oh sorry about the whole spacing out thing." he held out his hand and smiled. "The name's Alex." The four of them started to speak but he held up his hand and pointed at each one as he said their names. "Joey Wheeler, Tristan Taylor, Tea Gardner, and finally Yugi Moto, or are you the pharoah right now." He looked into his eyes and noticed they were round. "Nope your yugi right now." All four of them grabbed him and dragged him into the card shop.
