The very next day in school went rather smoothly, the teachers were understanding about the fact that he had to leave his books at school, that was just the kind of world it was, plus he was an exceptionally good student. He didn't see Mary in school that day or the next but he never did usually, unless she was trying to eat him, so that was probably a good thing. Still...

After school, the second day after the incident, some one catches your arm, it's Mary Anne and you startle out of instinct. "Don't freak out, it's only me", she says. A few days ago that would have been a perfectly good reason to freak out.

Still you stay, "What's up?"

"I have to say you have good reflexes, but, and don't take this the wrong way, you're a bit bony and tire out easily."

"What do you mean?"

"I want to help get you in shape. Come back to my place and we can start today."
