It seemed a life time of futilely trying to not being eaten gave them to weary experiences necessary to play most of the characters, especially that most thought on some level they weren’t going to be eaten.
They were all male, they usually kept girl and boy clubs separate so some work could get done. Charlette walked up to the one playing Willy Loman, assuming quite correctly that he was the leader of the group. Get him to go and the rest would follow.
The boy was young, 15 to 16, short dark brown hair and skittish eyes, a thin firm frame that looked like it belonged to a ballerina. Charlette blushed a little as she tugged at the back of his coat. The boy gave a startled jump, “Oh god please don’t eat me!” he screamed.
Charlette was still a girl, and many didn’t know she was able to eat people. This could be a problem. Charlette decided to settle the jumpy lad, saying in a shy tone, “Hello uhm, I’m new here. I was wondering if I could join your club… I don’t want to join the girls because they said they would eat me.”
The jumpy lad, who was called Henry, gave a suspicious look. He had heard a young girl had been skipped ahead who couldn’t do vore. Not being bright he immediately assumed it was her and apologized, “Sure. A girl would be quite useful to do some scenes, unfortunately we are quite far into rehearsals here…maybe you could join in the next production.”
Charlette could not help but give a sly smile. He was making this too easy, “Well I really wanted to get doing this right away.” She said as innocently as possible, fidgeting with her foot and looking rather cowed and disappointed, “Isn’t there any way I can catch up?” At this point she felt a pang of guilt and a genuine tear welled up in her eye. She just remembered she was going to get all these dullards killed. She tensed her lip, it had to be done.
Fortunately her ploy worked and all the cast felt sorry for the young girl. One loud lad yelled from the back, “We could do some more rehearsals if we can book more time in the drama studio!”
Charlette jumped on the chance, it was no or never. Taking a gulp she decided to play her little gambit, “You could just rehearse at my house, it is quite big and no-one will be there tonight…”
The drama club was always looking for more time to rehearse. The studio was monopolized by the girls and most of their homes had girls in as well. For someone to come and offer an empty house was perfect for them.
